Complains about getting invaded...

Hello Folks, i have some questions about getting invaded and maybe someone has a tip for me how to survide or avoid it better that it happens with me atm...

First off to my Profile:

Lvl 50 Meelee/Wanderer in first playthrough shortly afer surviving the Painted world in Anor Londo.

Cause im in first playthrough i normally dont care about pvp cause its senseless at the moment... i did the forest keeping in darkroot garden, but cause there are no level restrictions i dont care about winning anything there at all... so i avoid it till maybe NG+6 or something...

But my main problem is, when i reach a area which gets a little bit harder, i revive myself, and kindle the fire to get more flasks. A few minutes later i get invaded and seriously kinda "raped"... I wrap up my shield an look for a chance to hit my phantom and... GET TURNED AROUND, BACKSTABBED, DEATH... always with the same cheap trick...

i often go to my xbm and look for the guys who pawned me, and most of the time
my enemys have a trophy count at about 90% to 100 %... cant really believe these guys fit to a level range from about 10 levels what is stated in this wiki...

i tried to simply use a white orb which tells me i could banish phantoms, but it always says that theres no one to banish...

Well its not a problem, to just continue playing on in hollow mode enjoing the game, but it makes me angry not even get a clean fight, getting pawned in this cheap way all the time...

Someone got a hint how to avoid this dumb "turn around and die" trick??? (except using ranged)

Not much you can do, except learn how it is done, (the broken backstab mechanic that is), and then learn the counters to each type, (youtube can help).

There are people who make many characters and PvP at low levels, I actually do this as well. But gear is more so what's important, as well if I can tell the person is just not near my skill level I spare them, or rather spar with them to give them experience without killing them.

The black Crystal only banishes phantoms you have summoned.

Really, you'll just have to counter them, or have a summon with you as you go for bosses. They're a part of the game, and sometimes I know people are **** when they invade. But eh, it's a fairly fun mechanic I think. Some just like to abuse it. Good luck in your run though man.

Tolvo explained it, the game is hard in single player but while fighting another player you will need to know all the basics and then some. Theres quite a few you tube videos explaining the basics of pvp, EWGFphantoms vids are the most recommended. If you are in human form look for other white summon signs near the bonfires or at the start of an area. Only thing is a lot of the time the summons are as powerful as the invaders, and end up making the game way to easy(i mean you can just stand back and watch).

At low sl use elemental weapons and put the souls into vitality this will help you survive and you can get some pvp experience.

Another good point, vitality is MUCH more important in pvp then it is in single player.

elemental is just fine, in demons souls i had a elemental weapon with firedamage, which i pushed to max and kept till the bitter end... Found nothing comparable in dark souls until now except for a lightning spear (what sucks in my opinion). I know i could run through catacombs and try reaching the blacksmith, but thats kinda cheating to me rushing through an area achieving a goal i just know by studying youtube videos far before i get the chance to survive in this level with the stats ment to be there...

in my opinion one of the letdowns in dark souls, having already a lot of material for special upgrades but not being able to use them until the game is nearly done

(actually switching between "Black knights sword" and "scitimar+10" (stats 20 dex 25 str rest to endurance and vit)

if its bothering you too much but you still want to use AI phantoms just disconnect and if you want to train at pvp I would recommend that you do it as an invader or youll blow through humanity

Nooo, its never bothering me being challenged by another player, not even loosing the battle, just life... what simply bothers is, hoping for some challenging battle and getting ripped of with this "broken backstep"... if i understand it right, its kinda bug which destroys pvp and wont get fixed? what the heck are gameupdates for???

The backstabs are actually because of the connections, that's just a mechanic that isn't well implemented.

yea connectivity is a big problem in any multiplayer but to avoid BS if they are circling you roll into them unless its a fat roll youll normally get the chance to BS them also to avoid chain BS roll towards the invader not away

Sadly, you just have to deal with lagstab. I know it sucks and yes, backstabbing would be a lot harder without lag, but there's always lag in these online games, we just have to learn how to counter it.

yeah even in times knowing people using a lagswitch to "produce" that problem... seen that in mordern warefare sometimes but not expected it in dark souls...
