been doing some invading

I'm new to this forum, but not new to the game. I picked up the game while I was deployed in Afghanistan with no internet connection or patch. Since getting back to the states I've been doing some invading.

I've found that a lot of people like to invade in the Undead Parrish or Darkwood Garden areas, but I've actually found it quite enjoyable to invade Lost Izalith, Demon Ruins and the Catacombs. Reason being is that most people seem to be questing at that time and not set up or ready to be invaded. So far I haven't been ganked like in the UP or DG. I've actually had more fun catching unsuspecting foes as they are make their way through the game, giving them that same feeling they once had when they first played the game.

I was invading Lost Izalith and withing 30 seconds I get a message from the host to eff off. I politely replied that I was coming for him. When I found him, he was wearing all heavy armor and a black knight sword. I only have gold hemmed armor and death mask. I was standing on a branch where he couldn't hit me and started throwing fire balls down at him, then finished him off with Fire Tempest. Afterwards we both chatted and he was generally a good sport about me invading him.

Also, I just picked up my fire tempest pyromancy and it totally kicks ***. I invaded this once guy in the demon ruins and he saw me coming. So he buffed his weapon and ate some grass and started coming after me. I backed up and cast fire tempest and OHK him. I'm only level 80 right now and I find that invading and dueling a lot more fun at this level then 120 or 125 and it's nice not to be ganked 1 out of 3 games.

Yup, I have to agree with you on this.
When actually invading, it's more fun to do it outside the usual spots.

Invading is fun. Never know if its gonna be a gank, a prepared PvP'r, a solo quester or a quester and phantoms.

Invading in Lost Izalith at SL80 was one of my favorite things to do!

Just a little tip (I keep repeating this one): when you invade in Lost Izalith, I recommend using your orb where Solaire goes hollow. Rest at the bonfire behind Firesage, and use the Daughter of Chaos shortcut door to get there (you don't need to be a member of DoC covenant to open it, you can do it from the Lost Izalith side no matter what covenant you're in). It's the most convenient way to invade in that area, since you'll spawn right in front of the boss door and won't have to deal with the lava.

Invading is part of the game, no reason to be a prick to those who enjoy it. The game mechanics give almost every conceivable advantage to the host so even the supposed 'unprepared', who are warned of your damned arrival anyway, have the upper hand. Really your post is just rude nonsense.

Yeah. assuming your not right next to where they spawn while fighting a mob you really should not be taken by surprise.

One word describes this post. , keep it up and you may have a high enough cholesterol to have a heart attack. I thought as the SL6 NG infinity player you would be prepared to deal with invaders, PVP is harder than PVE to deal with but still... Try to calm down a bit and use the motto 'If you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing at all'

Fight the environment and a guy with estus... and potentially phantoms... well you would definitely be earning your kills I guess.

Lots of times that's what hosts are doing... now more than ever because of that Divine Blessing glitch thing. Add that to the fact that as soon as many invaders take a hit they run and hide behind the engine you're gonna have a difficult time.

That's one thing I like about playing XBL and PSN simultaneously, that I can wait out the invader. I was invaded in the Catacombs by the first bonfire the other day. The guy ran right past me. I don't know what he was doing for the 20 minutes of inactivity, but I was leveling up a sorcerer on my PS3.

I do mostly "honest" invasions. I'm a perfectly capable duelist, in fact I'd say I'm rather good based on some of the feedback I get both from forum members and randoms. I simply prefer regular invasions, never knowing exactly what I'm dealing with as I stalk the host and or his phantoms is tense, every corner has the potential to hide enemies already in mid cast, every door a player swinging a greatsword. Its almost always exhilarating to succeed in invasions against the potentially stacked odds. In duels it generally comes down to "can I stop the roll bs attempts?" I usually can, by the way, so I just murder the majority of my opponents, though it isn't a large majority, I'll admit.
