Says Mr. Unique Title big grin

Tolvo you've been special to the forum forever already you don't need this to do it. And honestly I'm not opposed to an Admin "team" with non admin members (and you'd be a good pick for them). My cheeky complaint was more because an event like this could use some balance and smack talk

Well wait, which team has more people on it currently? Because it might do to have more on the moderator team if there are so many rebels fighting against the glorious Empire and its many reaching hands.

Numerically speaking the rebels have more people, however with only one mod on the list it's more like a "Reim and some guys" team. Kinda like my Chaos BBQ was less a "party" or "BBQ" than it was "empty" or "on life support for much of its existence"

Well if Baal shows up that should bring forth the power of a fully operational team of Mods. Even if there are only two of them. I just hope they cover that damn exhaust port.

Five dollars at any lumber yard would have saved the Death Star. Five dollars. They deplete the resources of an entire galaxy to the point where technology actually degrades. Quality of life goes to hell for everyone. All of that to build the ultimate weapon and they're five dollars away from absolute victory.

Except we never actually see things degrade really, if you notice droids simply became civil, as well probably more than wood would be needed to prevent the shell of a proton torpedo. Other than that, most of it is actually attributed to resources as of to why things have gone sour, the reason? The Clone Wars. I don't think we should blame the empire so easily. silly

Look at the ships and tech in episodes I-III compared to IV-VI. Even the Empires stuff gets less sleek looking and more "cobbled" in appearance. Also, when the question came up about this officially instead of saying "movie" technology is better now so the new movies look better despite being "older" that was the answer that was given. The Empire drained resources to the point where things began going downhill (including the Clone Wars which was started by the evil part of the Empire behind the scenes). I think the combat droids and transport ships from the first three episodes really are way more advanced than anything in the last three though, supporting the official answer of degrading tech.

And the lumber would likely work if I understand the weapons correctly. An impact would make them explode and an explosion at the entrance would not trigger the chain reaction necessary to destroy the entire thing, just cause some charring. Isn't that why they have the womp rat discussion? If it's even a little off dead center it won't do what it needs to. Therefore a 2x4 and small piece of ply wood across the middle would not inhibit the exhaust function but would cause it to explode externally

A proton Torpedo has an energy field that can repel large slugs and laser weaponry, meaning wood would probably not set off the warhead.

Degrading tech is different from degrading resources though, because losing knowledge in a galaxy with a net as well as engineers, and some of the greatest minds around? That just flat out doesn't make sense if you ask me.

I don't think they lost knowledge but that's different than technology. Depleted resources lead to degrading technology so we're actually agreeing I think since basically I was stating they used up so many resources their technology suffered. Similar to today's world. We've grown up with the "eventually there will be no more fossil fuel" scare all our lives which was supposed to shape technology to some degree (and rising fuel prices have actually). Now there's a "we're using a lot of precious metals for cell phones etc." scare (batteries I think are the main offender if I read my science news right). Assuming we take either scenario to it's conclusion: We'd still know how to make planes and rockets and cars and phone and iPads but knowing how to make them is different than being able to make them.

EDIT: I'll bow to your torpedo knowledge but, while containing some hyperbole, the point is the same. It just would have taken 20 dollars instead of five to get a few bricks or something to add to the 2x4

You all really should see what we say about you in the mod forums...

And ok I'll bite and fight.

But be known, that I care not the result. Since I can't be bothered to train, I will be choosing a getup of the most regal nature, regardless of its effectiveness.

That's ok Emergence. My training regimen consists of Skyrim so you'll know I'll be bringing my "A" game.

    Hint: "A" stands for "awful."

Please, the might of an Eclipse Class Dreadnaught is more than enough to deal with your kind. I say that because it is the height of the Empire's naval might, so obviously it is more than enough!

    Mhmmm, Emergence. silly

Protocol droids have no purpose in the Empire! For christ's sake, the neimodians use them as servants, slave boys build them to help their mothers clean, and jedi use them as companions! None of them are used for protocol! If I had the authority I would take the Eye of Palpatine and wipe them all out.

I also agree on that gold robot. He can rot in the bowels of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal for all I care. Stinks about avatars. Since you're avatar blind, I'm rocking a Crow T. Robot picture
