Less gankers, more honor duels????
As most of you may already know the "Dragon Head Glitch" has been rediscovered, and with this discovery I have noticed an over all increase in skillful invaders and people that I invade. I had a 2 day run in Anor Londo of nothing but some of the greatest duels I have ever encountered from random people. Using some great new tactics and fighting strategies. The only "gankers" I ran into went 1v1 one at a time, and other invaders even waited there turn. I feel this glitch wasn't that bad in the first place but now it seems right at home and no one is as upset as they where all those months ago. I feel as if this has cut down on most of the bad players I have ran into over the past few months. There are still fishers and spammers but since the glitch they are not so prevalent they seem like more of a nuisance than the meta. Just glad to see some other duelists on the PS3 outside the fight club hosted areas. Keep it up guys can't wait to run into more of you.

Rediscovered?
I've been resorting to uninstalling updates and playing offline when making new characters for a while now.
This game's hard enough, even with my hefty soul count; and depending on my build, it only marginally assists with PVE gameplay.
I suppose the rise in fair players makes sense in a few ways.
People have more reason to make a new character with fairer PvP aspects if they can get their desired SL quickly.
It also would decrease the people that gank around invader spawns in places like the Dark Forest to make souls, since they'd not have much need for souls anymore.

I actually just ran into my first dragon head glitcher, i knew how to do the glitch before though. I knew what he was trying and i kept backstabing him as he turned his back to me, but do to lag he kept managing to escape my chain attempts. He would run and just eat devine blessings, then he finally managed to pull off the glitch cause my backstab attempt failed. There really is no way to escape the poison knife thing, i was trying my hardest to toggle out of it. I just exited out cause it literally just took control away from me. I got a huge message in kanji, i just pictured some dumb 14yr japanese kid laughing his *** off. I wish you could at least toggle out of the stagger the knives/fire bombs cause, it would make that glitch pretty much useless.
Edit: I am very surprised and honestly grateful that the community hasnt been using it to buff the MLGS with CMW or Stone GS with DMBext

If it was entirely in kanji it was chinese, japanese use kanji to supplement hiragana and katakana.
Anyways, I do believe OP that the law of large numbers was in effect. IE, its a coincidence. I've noticed no such decrease.

Well its pretty much the same exact thing, its just done slightly different. You are able to use it to just keep using the same boss soul. You can also use it to get 99humanity out of just one.

so the premise is that people who exploit a glitch to be better at a game they suck at have made the game better? actually yeah, that seems reasonable.

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
I am just talking in the aspect of the individuals who would gank for souls to build their new character faster, and basically the same went for people who would lightning rapier crit ring back stab there way up to level whatever. Just a lot of that has went away since it was discovered you can do the soul dupe glitch with the patch and being online. There is just isn't a big need to be an *** anymore now that you can BB glitch your weapons and gear then level up and be done with a new PVP character in 20 mins. I have just noticed a change and i like it.

It doesn't so much make you better, but aid you.
If it doesn't harm PvP experience, I don't see much bad about it.

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
A friend of mine recently shared this glitch with me, and other than using it for my own needs, i have shared it with a few friends and they seem to absolutely love me for it....... i dont know what their intentions are for it, but I never thought this was a bad glitch in the first place. I see it as a "faster but still time consuming" way of leveling up. I also think that higher level battles are more exciting than low level ones, so im all for people using this glitch.
I am talking about the soul glitch btw

Have you been paying attention? At all? Its being used to machine gun fire bombs, permanently stunning the person it hits until they die. You're for that?
I told someone, don't remember who, you could toggle break the shout. I was right whomever you are.
On side not, I hate and refuse to use the p word, in any context. Vulgarity is not something I'm ok with.

No, LanceforLife is talking about a good change, not firing constant bombs

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
the effect of the glitch is infinite item use at high speed, that includes attack items at such a fast rate that you have trouble escaping the stunlock and other items like souls, a number of honest pvp'ers use it to get lots of souls for leveling up but a larger number of cowards use it to kill opponents via infinite dragon roar or daggers shot like a machine gun. it was patched for a reason in 1.05, sadly some one found a loop hole, its things like this that can bring on another patch or make people quit until there is one. nowadays if i see a dragon i put on my rapier and hornet ring if they don't bow immediately.this glitch deserves no mercy.

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
Theres the bb to level quickly, the dragon glitch is used to cheat by spewing various items and spells. Even if someone is using the bb to grief, they can be fought effectively without the use of the bb. bleed in particular is highly effective. The same cannot be said about someone firing 3 css a second with infinite casts.
I've seen no such decrease in ganking. All the gankers I see arn't doing so to level, they're doing it because they can. I'd guess that he just got lucky.

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
Look maybe I did get lucky but 2 straight days 3 or 4 hours at a time of invades and only a small handful of bull ****, in Anor londo, I feel a change is happening. considering it is usually 2 or 3 man gank squads in dark anor londo or just some guy just spamming WoG or fishing. You see a guy as a dragon they are already notorious for being cheaters so why expect anything less who cares about them, as a whole I have seen an improvement and I want this "trend" to continue.

You see. Its called observation bias. I don't see, so I call it coincidence, especially considering no one else who may have shared a similar experience has spoken up.
If its truly a trend, I'm a bit disappointed. I fight in dark londo specifically to fight 2 and 3 people at a time.

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
I don't PvP much anymore, so I don't really see it much, but I did see it once. Same person I invaded twice when trying to get DMB on my PvE toon. Luckily, I ended up using the jump shortcut in the forest. He tried to follow
That being said, I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to unpatch and use the glitch. I mean, I don't agree with it, but, heck, it doesn't hurt my experience. I'm just saying I didn't mind the glitch being a pre-patch thing. Now that it's alive and kicking, I just want it dead again. I don't see it much, but it can ruin the game. The devs don't want it there.

Re: Less gankers, more honor duels????
Honest, lol. Through Dark Souls I've learned that a very large % of gamers are cheaters, but statements like this from decent people lead me to think it's closer to 100% than I thought.sparkly-twinkly-lizard wrote: a number of honest pvp'ers use it to get lots of souls for leveling up .
It sucks that this glitch is still around. Someone who was on my friend's list leveled his guy up to 416 in 8 hours, while my main guy was 424 after over 800 hours on him. That's f-ing pathetic. You kids who adore Epicnamebro should quit worshipping him and start emulating him.
This will have an interesting effect on dragons in pvp, that's for sure. I'll bet people will be pulling every dirty trick they can think of on them.

I really dont see why everyone hates this glitch. I for one like how Dark Souls seems to change when people can do glitches. Even if people use them for the wrong reason, it still gives a change to the normal everyday Dark Souls that were used to. Honestly, if you dont like the glitch, then dont use it and be done with it. Let the people that do use it though play the way they want to. Everyone is allowed to play the game how they want to, and if that seems wrong, then maybe you should play a different game. Now please dont anybody take my ranting in a bad way, because im not trying to be mean, I just think we should all let people use glitches as they please.
So basically i am agreeing with Lance, and saying that I like the changes that come across Dark Souls.
