There was a very simple concept behind what I was working on the last few days... I wanted to make a few hero's that are.... for a lack of a better way of putting it, incredibly weighted towards 1 thing to reckless standards of obsession.
I wanted a warrior that lived, breathed, and died with magic in their Veins... they would be purely magical in everything they did, and nearly impregnable to the force of magic themself.
I wanted a warrior that lived, breathed, and died with fire in their hearts. They needed to be impregnable to it's forces, and to fight in the image of fire.
Then I needed a warrior that lived and died in the eccentric nature of electrical storms... and that's where everything fell to ****.
This idea came to me from my original God of Tanking... because the build failed horrifically because of magic damage from buffs. Whenever I fought anyone without splitting damage though, that build could rip them up, especially since when the Blue Tearstone activated, I started taking only 100 damage from even weapons like the BKGA. This build hoped to get Toxic off, then soak up any neccesary damage until my opponent died.
So I also have made a Magic Sponge. My magic sponge is imo the char that worked the best from my set. It has really high Physical, and Magic Defense, doesn't look like a freak, and litterally nullified Darkmoon Blade. I'm not kidding, someone slapped that **** on a Washing Pole and only did like 140 damage to me... it was a waste of both our times. The Magic Sponge used 2 Moonlight Greatswords for +80 magic defense power, then the stoneplate for an additional 50, then the Big Hat for even more... I added the Black Iron Armor because itgave both good magic and good fire defense, rounding out most of the builds defense numbers as "*** High". It's weakness however is it's got very low Lightning Defense, and so it can't take many blows from that thing.
I enjoyed this build, Crystal Soul Spear does like 700 damage from a Bellowing + Crown user, and WoTG only did 280 damage. With how much of PvP revolved around Magic Damage, it's defenses really helped make up for it's nominally low HP value... The Moonlight Greatsword is also an insanely efficient weapon.
This shows a remarkable increase in magic defense, and I also played around with it. In a lot of situations, this generates a reduced effective HP, due to both Stunlocking, and the lower physical defense value. I believe the first model listed is the most effective medium for the 2 defenses.
The fire sponge does just that: it soaks up fire. As it has flash sweat, it does it a lot better then the magic sponge. A Great Chaos Fireball under best conditions only does 23 damage. It works with a larger HP pool then the magic sponge, so it can usually make up the difference in the loss of physical AR defense... usually. I decided to try and use Iron Flesh on this, and it actually meets viable success, because the weapon I chose to use has a rather useful ranged attack for those that try to fight me from a range instead. The drake sword is in the left hand purely for the +15 magic and fire defense it bestows to you. Overall, this one gets +85 fire defense, which is why it ends up with less total fire defense then the magic sponge, which could get 130.
I am however at a loss on how to make a lightning sponge. Any idea's? Also, is there any comments on the builds I did post?
