Are you new to PvP? Build
Now that you have read roan's guide and see all those youtube videos, you'll want to make a good and easy to use build with high HP, poise and damage output. Try this one, it has 108 poise to resist 1 ultra greatsword hit, 2 greatsword hits and 3 katana/spear/halberd/curved sword hits. You have 2 of the most easy to use weapons in DkS, the Claymore and the Pike. Just hit R1 and you'll win.

So... much... endurance...
Just thinking about it makes me work up a sweat.
I can see it being a pain in the *** to fight...

Re: Are you new to PvP? Build
You'll need same End for full Havel's + Hollow Soldier Helm for 108 poise and fap ring.

Re: Are you new to PvP? Build
lol.
I really wouldn't know. I'm not too much about the heavy armors. Just a piece here and a piece there as I see the need.

That's Wyrm's secret though. He actually hates noobs and wants them to suffer. And what's more deliciously evil than causing them grief under the pretense of offering aid?
Wyrm is one twisted hombre.

The preferable build is to be naked with nothing but the Big Hat while using the trident to dance to turn into a dragon.

Re: Are you new to PvP? Build
You got a good idea here, I don't know why someone gave a '-' for it, so I gave it a '+'. Ultimately, the build will allow the user to play a sort of "Easy Mode" that will allow them to explore the uses of both Claymore and Pike. The Claymore is weapon with much more depth than the Pike, but the spear provides a much simpler poke compared to the tricky one-handed strong attack of the sword. It also gives much room to improve upon; 16.0 weapon weight can be incredibly versatile. Not only that, by not having the 'Ring of Favour and Protection' equipped, it encourages strongly trying out different equip loads. While it might be viewed as an 'unfair', or (heaven permit since English does not) 'unfun', someone looking at this build should have realised that it actually one potential setup, and not actually the strongest, but the simplest.
A similar setup should generally be offered to new players, it would be cruel to give them a Butcher Knife, and a Light Crossbow, instead of something more forgiving. Personally, I would suggest this build that features the Large Club, and the Pike, which covers very different areas of combat. It follows the principle of covering the the major weapon groups: Risky Attacks, Backstabs, and Pokes. It also comes with the two most useful (in my opinion) pyromancies. Ideally, you would buff the Large Club with Poison Resin, and land that debuff on the target using the two-handed roll attacks. Afterwards, you take advantage of lulls in combat to use the Large Club to threaten the opponent, and use the Pike in response to when your opponent is being aggressive. Not only is this build simple to use for a beginner, it offers a very changeable weapon setup where weakness are covered by the 'typical' pyromancy load out.

Yeah I know, there's another version that has full Havel's armor + hollow soldier helm and fap ring. Has 1900 HP. I just don't like Havel's armor.

Re: Are you new to PvP? Build
Well I somehow did know the build would get bad rep, but I'm not saying it's the most powerful. Instead I'm saying is a good build for those who don't have any PvP experience. For example those who don't know toggle escape or get roll backstabbed constantly. You have to admit, spears and greatswords are the most easy to use weapons. Also it's a melee only build, so they don't get confused by switching their shield for casting magic and vice versa. I did throw a bit of sarcasm but well, I couldn't evade that.

Re: Are you new to PvP? Build
Wyrm, another good practice build could be this: http://tinyurl.com/6vzpyfy Chaos Blade - very easy weapon to use and with 2k hp they don't really need to worry about the 20hp drain per hit. They have a bow to punish people for casting pyromancies or spells, they have enough poise to tank a hit from a GS so if they are 2hing their claymore they can get two hits in if they are having a slugfest with someone anyway. The Spider shield stops them being poisoned which is a worry for them in pvp, it acts as a psychological weapon - it will teach them to have an organised inventory with 3 rings, Wolf, FaP and RTSr - they can learn to switch to the RTSr when they hit 20% hp and it will teach them quickly how to handle situations.
