    To the point, survivability.
My main char has 1459 HP, wearing light Armor (Black Sorcerer Set + Big Hat), my Rings are bellowing and RoFaP. (Int / Dex Char without buffing)
Theoretical, everyone think i cant survive 5 seconds. But my w/l ratio in the burg is always positive, mostly 60%/40%, depends on my day.
And i let everyone buff his weapon.
in my opinion principle > survivability! Its such an great feeling, to win a fight against a buffing high poise dex-weapon user. And even if i loose, most of the times it is close.
The only thing that keeps me alive is my <25% roll + Crest Shield +5/lucky parries!

By the way, can you tell me your stats/rings? Ive learned much from your youtube-videos happy And ill try the forward dash + pyromancie, like you in your commentary.

But i dont really like your throwing knifes, while the opponent bows/grasses (at the beginning!) ...

Hell wait i remember something, correct me please if im wrong. You was the guy with "battle of the builds"? So why have you a problem with buffers, while you used tranqill in combination with high damage sorceries. There you told us, we should use 100% of our build, and you hate buffers?
Please explain this me, i dont get it ..

And i told you one thing, your parry instructions video, improved my parry skills a lot! Hell i get a parry every third game! Thanks! happy

Just because I dislike something doesn't mean that I'm against it. People should play whatever build that they are using and buffs are no exception. I just don't like the risks you take from fighting against such a powerful combination. The explanation that I gave just explained why I don't like them. But, I'm not against them at all.

I liked it. Although peoples opinions with this game are starting to just become chaotic. Its like the few people in the pvp community have started to form political partys, lol. I'm guilty myself of being a little too opinionated with the game, how i expect people to play ext. Not aiming that at you ,but you know what i mean.

Glad to see you rocking the normal fast roll. I myself have transformed all my builds into fast roll, using the wolf+fofap combo and 50vit,40-55end, then w/e other stats you want. It really gives you variety when it comes to picking armor and weapons. You arent locked into the heavy gauntlets+leggings and light armor chest, or the mask+heavy armor+dwgr. You might put yourself at a "slight" disadvantage, but its actually very viable. Its really fun picking my armor and making my character look original, its half the fun of making a build,in my opinion. Did a mini rant there myself, i just think a lot of people should take that option into consideration.

BTW: you can't not crack a smile seeing that pic of your daughter, looks like you got a happy family there Dark Souls Commentary: Priniciples vs. Survivability? 558843162

hey man, i enjoy your videos loads and you bring real life ethics into it which i think is a good thing, i recently made a post about Dueling/Invading, where are the lines when i invade i am ruthless and i will have no remorse in ruining someones day but during a duel i will be reserved and win or loose all i care about is having fun, anyway to my point your a brilliant player just do what makes you smile

The roll is faster(as in shorter), so the roll attack is faster. With some weapons, one could easily argue that touch of speed outweighs the potential loss of armor. The great club is an easy example.

I would agree with you forum if it werent for how the dwgr covers more distance per roll/flip. Its not that noticeable until you fast roll and face tons of dwgr users. Also im no expert so i cant confirm this, but the flips seem to have a longer/larger I-frame then the fast roll. So there are benifits besides the obvious 25% equip load you gain(which is huge, and why the ring is broken). Also, since with dwgr you are basically always standing it makes it a hell of a lot easier to roll bs, imo. Lastly, since you are pretty much standing while your flipping lag really becomes more of a problem. I think this is why it looks like people go from standing 5 feet from you to insta bs in a matter of a half of second. The dwgr is pretty much the easy mode setting for dark souls, cant really argue against that.

That the dwgr flip covers a bigger distance is its weakness in this regard. A fast roll dodge allows you to dodge and attack in 1 roll without roll bsing. That doesn't work as well with the dwgr due to the extra distance.

    Enough about that though.

I'm glad someone with more publicity is trying to keep the larger community civil.

Hey man cool video! With regards to buffs I think the 1 thing your overlooking abit is the points used for the buff...with it being at least 30 fth to make it viable on a 120 build that's a lot points spent to get the buff...so those plays are losing stats in other areas to achieve the ability to buff! I am not saying it makes them okay but just saying lol

I myself only use a buff when another play uses one as I prefer the duel to last longer than 2 or 3 swings!

With regards to attacking a buffing play I don't but thats your choice and I have no problem with it...It can be annoying when someone throws a buff on a washing pole and all you brought to the party was a chaos blade!

Lastly I would consider that you yourself are 'buffing' your pyro to the max extent possible with bellowing and crown you do more dmg with a GC than I would with a SLB buffed uchi at 30 fth....with your pyro setup it should equal out fighting a buffed player IMO!

Keep up the sweet vids man!

At 120 where else would you put the points? At 80 or 100 you have to cut vit or scaling to use a buff well, but at 120 its more "my damage stat and vit hit diminishing returns and my stamina is maxed, so lets buff because there's nothing more beneficial to do with the last 20 points."

That is a very validate point that I don't disagree with Forum...at 120 you would still have all the stats high enough were the buff stats wouldn't hinder your build

    But let's use 1 of my current builds a 120 dex/fth

40 vit 39 end 19 att 16 str 45 dex 30 fth base evrything else

Now I can do just fine with this build against any solid 120 without using a buff...last night down in the moonpit I was running the chaos blade/lifehunt with pyro and 59 poise with decent success...but if we moved the buff stats that's I am not even using around abit it would make the build more versitile!

For instance I could add 12 points to str to use a elemental mura and a lot more elemantal str weapons...then I could make that vit 50 or close and go from 1590 to around just shy of 1800 let's say....20 points doesn't make or break a build at 120 but it sure seems silly to make a buff build and not buff simply to be nice or more fair...which is what I am doing when I bring this toon to FC for instance and don't buff because I 'feel bad'....but I run this build elsewere like the burg were people do buff a lot and much like Marty I hate fighting against a buff when I don't have a buff myself!

Elemental Mura!! Muras scale with dex, if you used it with those stats it would hit about 550 2handed. Imagine if you buffed it, and you could easily have that set up if you just didnt have so much att.

It does crazy dmg, i remember i always thought of it as a str weapon do to its stat req. Then i 2handed it with my 45 dex pyro build and saw i had over 500AR. Its surely a beast of a weapon by itself, add 300+dmg to it using a buff.....yea fights over pretty quickly. Thats if the person lets you get the buff off though, i dont allow people to in burg or other similar areas to buff during random duels(well at least i try not to let them)

Its slow but when you engage stunlock the fights over before anyone knows it lol! 1 handing its a must for me the 1 handed jump attack does awesome dead angles!

Honestly I usually do buff charcoal pine cuz I love the look lol but I never use a strong buff usless the other does...most people don't have a problem with me doing that in most cases it only pretty makes a +15 weapon similiar to an elemental one anyways give or take!

I can agree that lightsaber battles can be fun, but yea if one person has dmb/slb/gmw and the stats to scale and the other doesnt its pretty unbalanced. I personally never found buffs to be all that good when i use them, but darkmoons who invade me do crazy amount of dmg when they buff. Im guessing its cause they are higher then sl120 and have enough stats to not only have full stat scaling benefits but also high faith. Ive been 2-3 shot by many a darkmoon katana users, its pretty ridiculous.

    http://tinyurl.com/cnr9ask

SL 120, with dmb active its just over 900 AR so expect a hit to deal in excess of 800 damage. Please don't genralise. Uninformed speculation benefits no one. Some dms are overleveled yes, but so are some wraiths and the low sl griefing is done almost exclusively by wraiths. There are pricks on both sides.

I'd argue that slb is the most powerful because lighting damage is the most difficult to resist, where magic shield and or gmb render dmb mostly useless,

I'd argue that slb is the most powerful because lighting damage is the most difficult to resist, where magic shield and or gmb render dmb mostly useless,

I would agree with you 100% when I host the forest solo on my 225 and wanna be a jerk I can rock full havels and flip then I buff my BSS with either SLB or CMW...its barely even fair even against 2 people lol...but if I buff CMW and the vader casts GMB ill quickly rebuff to SLB lol

Also I like your build Forum I just like Uchi and laito better so I'd go 16 str and throw a few into end or vit...I like making builds lol

Thanks, I fancy myself good at building efficiently. I'm not innovative at all though. That is just an example of a build built specifically to kill everyone in 2-3 shots, and with the washing poles reach it can hit from well outside the range of all but the longest weapons.
