    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB32QI6gjII&feature=related

Warning: This video contains high volumes of Medium and Fat Rolling.
This video contains unnerfed fog rings (which btw, the fog ring turns you far more opague on PS3 then X-box, and I now understand why it needed to be nerfed... as I didn't see the host in that gank until he hit him.)
This video contains high quantities of 700-1350 HP totals.
    This video contains old content.

And you know, I miss this. I miss where a fast roll was very rare, mediums were common ground, fat rolls were to be respected as a sign of a dangerously well armored opponent.

I miss when the DWGR was so rarely used that when I saw it, I wasn't sure what was going on.

I think the game was a bit funner.

Their Fog Ring is a lot better than ours. Or at least it used to be. It was also a time when Gold-Hemmed was the generally accepted best light armor game, alng with the Antiquated skirt.

Back when you couldn't guess what you're opponent was using before seeing them...indeed, I miss those times. Now it's just:

    -Family Mask
    -DWGR
-At least 2 pieces of Havels and/or Giants being used

Seriously, tell me how many people you face who don't use at least 2 of those 3 things nowadays. Sure it gets you wins, but...I dunno. Just...meh :|

    Oh, many people!
But if you drop the requirements to "1 of these 3" my numbers drop to "few"

I can't really say I missed the time I couldn't lock on to the opponent.

I felt stupid later, because I didn't even -notice-.
Actually, I don't notice when people buff unbuffable weapons usually... call me blind, but I just see they buffed their weapon and adjust.

Blood, I understand not missing being able to lock on, but I sort of feel that it was an alright tradeoff compared to what PvP has become now. That transparency -really- needs toning down if the no-lockon was kept though.

Yeah, I actually meant ME with that gear, and today you will never see me with a katana or a lightning wpn.

    I see.
And to be honest, if the Ring of Fog wasn't nerfed, I think it would have become the next DWGR.

I understand what you are saying, but this isn't really nostalgia goggles for me. The fact is ganking was rare back then, and most builds were more original.

I completely understand you Rynn, miss the times when the DWGR was still kind of undiscovered.

I miss when the Crystal Ring Shield/Pyro Flame did massive damage. I also miss, "You Defeated".

This time was good, the only problem was in those days, ring of fog and TWoP were so incredibly good that when you got ganked.. You had no chance.

Ring of fog WAS the DWGR of those days. No lock on was just too good to pass up. It's a shame that DWGR has become almost integral to every PvP build that wants to be competitive.

People would just keep their DWGR on always.

Which, truthfully, is pretty much what they do nowadays anyway.

The beginning stages of PvP were the most fun, everyone. Was trying new things so u saw all kinds of builds and it was so much fun unlike today's. Boring havel/giant flippers.

I didn't really do much PvP back when this was all going on, as when I encountered that guy in Havel's doing ninja flips I was appalled thinking to myself, "Why are max lvl players against me on my first playthrough!!?"

Of course now I know what was going on, but regardless lol. That killed PvP for me for the longest time. Of course now someone flipping in Havel's is common, and I don't really think it's bad at all. It's just business in Lordran as usual.

I'd still wear DWGR, I always use ring of FAP so why not DWGR too? (if it was gonna be a PvP build)

Very boring answer, but sadly DWGR is almost mandatory if you don't wanna get killed by lag hits or lagstabs.

I use the DWGR. I also use the arm and leg parts of the Giants set. It isn't because of the armor though, it's for the poise. If I cared about armor I wouldn't be running around in the Armor of Thorns without a helm lol. I suppose I 'could' wear a Wolf Ring, but I like my Cloranthy Ring. It's all about looking good and still being efficient. :pharis:

Alternatively killing the ninja and taking it from him could count as removing it thus breaking it silly
