If its the same as xbox you want to be looking on the circular platform before you reach the first set of ghosts coming from firelink. that is the place where most drop their signs.

...have you flushed water out? ...if it's no flush it's no summon also...you ought to flush water first to be able to summon help...just saying so...

What do you think, is it better to use the quit\reload method or just wait?

...I went after them today with lvl 16...it was about 30 minutes until I found sign, I left message on the ground "need hollow" at the begining of the level, just outside the elevator tower near twin tower for valley of the drakes...guy red message and dropped sign...

I've got numerous characters and I rarely find summon signs on the turrent between the bridges.
Most of the summon signs I see are at the beginning of the level.
