short bow vs composite bow

so i have 40 dex on both my toons that are gonna be using it, do they have the same draw speed? range?

edit; this is for pvp purposes

You can find the range on the wiki, but Im pretty sure composite has the fastest draw speed of all the bows.

Composite bow hits harder on a 20/40 or better build. Composite also draws faster.
The advantage of the short bow is that it can be obtained in abundance, and as such you can make crystal versions, which are better.

the shortbow also has more range, ihave a 16-40 build and a 27-40 builds, im surprised the shortbow has more range, i was testing them last night and they seem to have the same draw speed , if the composite wins then it must be by a millisecond.

The composite wins on the second arrow. The original shot seems to be the same speed, but the composite bow slots a new arrow faster.

oh good to know, but would the better range of the shortbow be better overall since it gives you more distance(time) from your enemy? at least that's how i see it. i will do more testing though.

The shortbow is better for sniping. The composite bow is better for close combat fighting, generally in PvE situations.

The composite bow is better in all the situations I would rather have a crossbow.

all my str toons use the heavy crossbow which is awesome but i dont have the weight to spare a crossbow and since bow are so damn light im gonna go with them. i love the crossbows, they kick *** specially cause theyre so fast.

I thought composite and short had same draw speed. I would use short bow if your Str is very low and your Dex very high (40). I would use composite only as enchanted, divine/occult or chaos. Or with 27 Str / 40 Dex.

yeah, im gonna use short bow for low level vader and the composite for my warrior build.

This man, composite (normal upgrade path) is also better with 30/30. As for range, both bows are for lock on use, and if you want to snipe, stick with Black Bow or Longbow. I know they're slow but very effective if used correctly
