My friend told me to watch that and i was like.....uhhh not really my thing. Then the main character(whos a guy) transforms into a magical girl and fights a giant crab demon. I changed my mind very quickly.

You are right fellow Master's of the arts. LOL
History's strongest Disciple is one of my favorites manga's (the anime doesnt continue the awesome-ness)
The breaker and The breakerNew Waves are my second most closley followed mangas.
But new waves is kinda taking forever to get a move on.
There is an manga which involves a zombie girl that fall's in love with her resurrect-er that I found kind of intresting but I havent been able to remember that manga since i stumbled upon it before. There is that (whole i want to love you but Im afraid you'll get hurt feeling) in the manga that seems to be present in many mangas. (sighs) im such a sucker for it though.

Re: Favorite anime!
They made an anime of the zombie girl manga, its called Sankarea if thats what your thinking of. I like to read manga too, have a bit of a collection going. I just hate how it takes forever for some to get translated.
Some of my favorite manga are: Welcome to the NHK,Ressentiment(thats where my avatars from), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Homonculous.

Re: Favorite anime!
See I'm always at a bit of odds with anything featuring young characters, because I have really creepy friends that suggest these things to me. For example, Lucky Star was suggested to me by a friend. His words, "This show stars some pretty hot girls, even if you don't like the plot you might get something out of this if you know what I mean." I looked it up, I don't ever want to know what he means.

Is your friend turned on by platonic relations? Lucky Star is a light-hearted thing; it's not Boku no Pico, or something.

Im in agreement with you Tolvo that there are some close comparisons to suggestive material and illegal things however im so far gone and addicted to kawwii things that I cant turn back.
I generally dont mention it but I liked the my little sister cant be this cute anime dispite it being in bad taste with people who cant stand the presence of such forbidden things.
I think manga and anime just brainwash people into things.

Re: Favorite anime!
Uh, let's just say he has told me he has romantic dreams about little girls from anime, there's a reason I don't talk to him as much anymore with some of the vivid descriptions he's given. As well a lot of people I know that like anime are kind of like this, so they sort of hurt the image of people that watch anime.

Re: Favorite anime!
No I was refering to your use of japanese words in english sentences, in this instance, kawaii.
Its an infuriating practice, excusable only if the name of the thing you're talking about is japanese.
IE "Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?" is the name of the show, so its excusable. "That cat is kawaii" is infuriating.

Re: Favorite anime!
Ouch, what a tough question. I'd have to say it's a tossup between Cowboy Bebop and FLCL. I also really like the first 2/3 of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I really hate the extent to which it goes downhill but the first few arcs are brilliant. I really like the theme that sanity is such a fragile thing and that everyone potentially has a killer inside them, all it takes is just the wrong circumstances or a really bad day.

LOL point taken . However I don’t like to use the word cute cause it doesn’t capture the true feeling of the Japanese word which feels like an all-encompassing cuteness.
ポイントとして、私はそれは面白いですので、私はさらに怒りをするために、日本語で話すしなければならないと思います。私の5ドルfootlongを吸う。

Hey Gandis_God, have you tried looking into the Visual Novel of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni? I liked it, and if you can put up with the sprites I bet you will, too.

Re: Favorite anime!
I don't think it's totally inappropriate because it's a japanese word that refers to a japanese cultural concept of cuteness that is not represented by "cute". When I use kawaii, I use it to describe a cuteness that matches the cultural connotations of kawaii in japan.Forum Pirate wrote:No I was refering to your use of japanese words in english sentences, in this instance, kawaii.

The first 5 games are translated, and I managed to get them to run in Ubuntu. If you really want to get them to work, odds are you can; it is done with a fairly simple engine, unlike Muv Luv with its hellspawn rUGP engine.
