What Happened?

Why do people prefer efficiency over style, sure it may rack in kills but style shows what you are. Like lately what's with this 2k hp minimum, I mean, it's understandable for a warrior build or a tank, but not everyone needs to slap on a mask of Mother and ROFAP. It's really been getting out of hand when casters nowadays have ridiculous amounts of health, what the hell happened? Why can't people simply rely more on skills, tactics, and creativity rather than copious amounts of health for when they f**k up?

The fun loving spirit seems to be dying, as the competitive one takes its place. I've noticed this as well, it was always to some level but lately what I've seen during my return has sort of coerced me to no longer play online anymore.

I know what you mean. But it's just a trend in the meta. Give it a month or two and everyone will be looking into something new, like say a sudden need for more stamina regen and lighter/quicker weapons so they can do the whole 'death by a thousand cuts'.

There are style builds and then there are try-hard builds. Occasionally you can find the sweet spot for both. Most of the people I invade are the try-hard builds though. Tons of poise, MoM, buffs, etc. I can't blame people for making an efficient build. I like winning too. Just makes me appreciate style players that much more when I don't see them very often.

Yeah, the mom + fap is ridiculously OP. And think about it, you can have a 2000 HP, 400 defense, 77 poise, 400 pure magic AR with a MLGS mom + giants build. I planned a build a while ago that was meant as a counter to this type of build and elemental Vit builds. I put on the mom mask and I say it's too much. I have never done a 2000 HP monster. Way too OP, now I know why everyone use it.

I only do that on my current FH toon, but he is about SL200, and designed against gankers. But I don't think I'll be using him either.

My SL 265 FH has 1550 HP, and that's way more than enough. Do you really need 2600 HP to make up for the fact that you suck really hard? No offense to people that make good vit gouge builds, but the overwhelming majority of them are terrible.

You'll actually deal more damage with a non-split damage weapon Cloud. Unless it's just for flavor.

Quarik I have that high of HP because it is my first Vit toon, and I didn't really have much else to put stats into as it's a bit of a messed up toon. As well I was just getting back into DkS so I was using the Vit to help me get reacquainted with the game.

Yes, people with lots of HP usually make more mistakes. I'm telling you I used to make 1300 HP builds, now I try to make +1500 HP ones and I feel more clumsy than before. Now I want to make 2000 HP builds, it's like you get clumsier the more you raise the cap.

Purely in honor of Artorias, just as the DSS is for Ornstein. I would throw in P's dagger and DSB to honor all 4 knights, but then I'd be too heavy and I wouldn't have my fire. As it is now I just menu swap DSB with DSS if I need excessive force at a range.

And higher HP means more chances to make a come-back kill. I'd rather NOT have to take a few hits to kill my target, so I'll end a fight when I can.

My only vitality build is the one I'm making right now and it's a havel cosplay with 1900 hp and right now I feel a bit clumsier as I have to take hits to dish out with my big strength weapons.

I don't think I've ever made a build that had over 1500 HP....

Hell, I don't think I've ever made a build that didn't use a full armor set (with the exclusion of my mage which has a Crown of Dusk on Witch Set)

I love stylistic builds, they just feel more organic and more fun to win with.

You guys might say "Well you're asking for it" but. Sadly I do not have the privilege of having style, because if I die once them messages won't stop coming. Mean messages.
Even deaths by backstabs bring home the messages, so I need HP to survive in the cruel world of Lordran.

I have over 2000hp with rofap, but since I take almost double dmg from everything I think it justifies it. Also I can't get too much dmg output or any form of magic since I have no attunement slots.

How do you take double damage from everything? You got negative defense, or somethin'?

Did the PvP get worse, or did we just get old?

BSing became too common, everyone just fishes and uses TWOP WoG or ganks. I onyl started pvping late, its not just you guys.

I think there's been an influx of largely mediocre players lately. However, I still occasionally run into someone who's just the friggin' BOMB. Those players are usually in the Moonpit, for whatever reason. I think it's the new Burg.

imo mages should have high hp since dont have anything to level up after int, im talking about opure mages not those lame mlgs with full giant's. the full giant/havel's+mom set has been the top set since the game cam out, the reason is that when you google best armor or weapon two things come up, havel/giant's and bkga. and like people have said already, they just wanna win and dont care about anything else.
