The bonfires you can warp to on a no bonfire run are the firekeepers only! So in our case, that leaves only 2 covenants: quelaag and store dragon.
Plus you can even warp to them after they died.

I'm on my no death/no bonfire run with not much having changed. I just retrieved the lord vessel, but instead of going to place it I took it to the eternal dragon. Nothing changed with him either, not that I can see at least. All firekeepers are dead, no bonfires have been lit. I've only grabbed the fallen firekeeper souls none of the others, so undead parish, blighttown and new londo still have the firekeeper souls intact. Currently just sitting, seemingly chatting it up with the eternal dragon, seeing if he'll spill the beans. Lol

Any thoughts on what my next step should be?

Good work sir! Your still NG so pro not much to loose. You could think about fully kindling at the dragon, although that's a permanent measure. A bit scary. Or joining his covenant, other than that Im not sure!
    Stupid dragon!!
Maybe just pause there for a bit while we gather our wits about us..

Ah! Alright I'll go fully kindle the dragon bonfire. I spent over an hour beating on his tail and bombing him with black firebombs to no avail. Alas, he may not have to die, like someone suggest, maybe just leave for a reason. I don't think I could join the covenant and then +3 without dying, but it would be interesting to see what full kindle, cov +3 could do. For now just the kindling...

I'll post back shortly to inform on changes, if any. big grin

Actually I don't even rest at bonfires, so I can only teleport to Firelink Shrine, just because you can always teleport there. The only bonfire I've used is the Lordvessel.

ICEFANG you're a hardcore dude. I like it.
Thanks guys for making these runs, I'm super busy lately. Moving to a house we bought.
Hopefully that dragon will fly off as soon as his flame is kindled. He's so stubborn though, you would think a boosted sun spear would peal a scale or two, but nope!

I actually tried to fully kindle and to join the covenant but no luck. However, I've seen that the Hydra can literally jump from the place she is to the other side, just to chase you, but she doesn't come too far. If we could possibly aggro her to blast the Dragon, maybe he would fly off. But so far, the only trigger that works with aggroing an enemy is that wall from Sen's Fortress.

Alright, the dragon is fully kindled. Nothing happened, he's just staring at me like his mama don't feed him. I'll leave that build there for now and check back for ideas.

Oh, btw, anyone have anymore ideas before I place the vessel?

The door opens when you get to +2 in the chaos cov and no, there isn't a video clip. You just have to touch the door and it opens. You made a very good point though! Maybe there is other shortcuts or things that you have to find out within each covenant.

I'm finishing up my SL1 playthrough- just have to kill Gywn and then continuing on with my no bonfire run. I'm currently at the depths. Waiting to summon Laurtec and Solaire for the Gaping Dragon. Then hopefully figure out a way to blow this "eternal" dragon to smithereens!

Sunbro, you keep saying you're summoning Lautrec. I didn't even know that was possible.

Also, in ash lake, the second tree with the giant mushroom men. I went out the side closest to the dragon, where the curse froggy sits and under him looks like a hollowed out log. I haven't tried dropping down to it, but It looked accessible. I couldn't find a good angle to see into it so if anyone else wants to check it out, there ya go.

I had an idea about the whole entire no bonfire run, and the idea is a little "insane" if you want to put it, but I had the thought of going through the whole entire game only using the bonfires that the firekeepers light and not lighting any other bonfire. The only exception of course would be the lordvessel. Then at the end killing the rest of bonfire keepers and letting Lautrec keep the soul of the Firelink Fire Keeper. Unless if that would even work in an actual playthrough...

This is basically what were doing. Some of us kill the firekeepers as soon as we level, others just use the lordvessel to level. I've let Lautrec live and keep anastacias soul and more recently I killed him. Unfortunately it seems were missing something because not much has changed, just a couple "interesting" situations have occurred, but nothing that's been duplicated...yet. big grin

Yeah, I had an idea on how to kill the dragon. You see I think in order to do it you need to have the pendant on you at all times through the playthrough for you to remember all the "fond memories" of recovering the lord souls.

Another thing I've recently looked at with detail is the area surrounding the dragon and how it looks a lot like the way the lands did when the dragons ruled at the very beginning of the cutscene. Large trees, surrounded by some rocks, and of course the everlasting dragon. I was thinking of re-enacting the cutscene at the beginning and trying to kill him.

So with a fully upgraded bonfire, with all of the lord souls, and the pendant throughout the playthrough you would have to attack him with the sunlight spear, then fire tempest, possibly the gravesword attack, then use the two handed R2 attack from the Dragon Greatsword you could possibly kill this son of a *****.

That's what I also think it means with discovering the pendant's abilities in more than one playthrough, because you need to beat the game once already to gain the sunlight spear.

Ok, here is an idea for you guys, but it involves a lot of time "farming".
I remember once that one person of the comunity gave the max ammount of humanity to kathee and he recieved a "Well Done" message or something like that.
So the idea is... Giving 100 scales to the dragon, assuming this is the max number of scales that the dragon recieves.
This way you are in dragon form and completely maxed out in the dragon's covenant.
You think that could trigger anything with that dragon?
You have to think outside the box. The Dragon Bonfire is completaly out of the game mechanics.
Bonfire lit with 10 estus recharge, that means it has to have a firekeeper.
If the dragon acts as the FK then it is going against all we know about the FK and is contradicting the lore itself due as a firekeeper it is not woman, and as a dragon it has no humanity at all.

Interesting. I need to work up the nerve for this one cause I once spent a few days farming the scales in pve and only got ten silly

Yes. Is not easy at all and really time consuming. I don't know if it is worth all the work because all we have are just assumptions.

I think anything is worth it. Maybe if we had a path of the dragon covenanter so that they could farm a ton easily. silly I may take this challenge in a couple weeks when my internet is back up. silly

So, I started a no bonnie run today. Got to the Parish and couldn't decide if I wanted to rescue Lautrec or not, so I just went and beat the gargoyles. But when I came back to check on him he was gone. When I get back to Firelink he's all, "How's it going?" and just staring down Miss Firekeeper.

Is this a normal thing for him to be letting himself out of his cage or what?
