Griefers still out of control? Empty Griefers still out of control?

Post by dirkdeadeye Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:38 pm

I quit playing when Diablo 3 came out..meh, honeymoon phase is over, now it's just gonna go into rotation with the other stuff I play.

Anyway..How's pvp, still invading 3 people at a time? Or did that crap calm down a little?

I don't know for sure, but I think that's only in the Forest, and it's probably not as common as some may think. It may be 2 people. I believe 3 is kinda rare, but you may invade the same group over and over again some days.

I personally like the Burg. But that's all about Roll BSing.

GO to the burg, the burg is great.

Or host, then you'll be one more fair host.

Heh, asking for griefers to leave Dark Souls is like asking Dark Souls to stop killing you. silly

I've seen a lot less of three-way invasions, though.

Well, when I was playing..there was really nowhere to go. The kiln was full of jerks, PW was terrible, anor londo was bad as well. I was just wondering if that crap had calmed down a little.

Lately, I've been doing a lot of coop to reach SL150. Eh, the Kiln has calmed down a lot. A few months ago, it was weird to spend 10 minutes without being summoned/invaded. Now? I gotta invade myself if I want some action.

Anor Londo and Painted World are still hotspots, though.

I took a break for forest hunting to host in the kiln and leave a red sign, (at 200 mind you) and I got frequent invasions and summons by a few fair people and a lot of cheap healers and fishers who completely abandoned honor the minute they started to lose. I prefer the burg, cheap people there too but it's not as bad as the kiln.

Ganking is as bad as ever in the Kiln. Just host. And as stated before, the Burg is a roll BS competition, especially if you go in with a strength weapon.

I don't mind BS'ers I run a faith build (emit force/wog ftw) and my other one is a MLGS Dragon build which is a ton of fun.

That's fine again circle strafers. Everything you mentioned can be roll BSed pretty easily though.

Alright, Team Dark Souls, I think we need to get this straight. Invaders are Griefers, invader-farmers are Gankers. Invaders are the cause of all invasions. Pretty basic stuff. Not saying anyone's right and anyone's wrong, what I AM saying is let's get this terminology **** nailed down.

Many people invade and do not grief though, there are invader griefers especially at low levels, but at higher levels a lot of people just do general pvp or duels.

Nah, griefers are low-level vaders with maxed out gear. Gankers are hosts with phantoms.

Which is sort of what you said, but I thought it needed some clarification. Haha.

Not saying all invaders are griefers, but all griefers are invaders. PVPers are a whole different animal. Especially you forest deviants. That's a scary world you live in.

Griefers are also hosts, any player can be a griefer it depends on their intent and what they are doing. Host or invader.

Aye, I've met griefer hosts who simply hide and wait for you to get near a cliff to shoot you down with a DSB (got the last laugh on that guy. He fell off from the recoil and died and I survived by hitting a tree)

I'll duel if the host wishes to duel. But in my line of work I rarely see that kind of host.

That host was luring invaders to the cliff with shiny items >_>

There are a few moments like that in which I'll let a griefer slide, if it is amusing enough. Such as the time I invaded the Sealer, Warrior, and Lautrec ganking group in Dark Anor Londo. If they are making it actually amusing and not just going for kills, I'll let it slide.

What's let it slide mean in that context, Tolvo? Is there an invader's equivalent of the Indictment?

I wish, then again it would get abused just like indictments are in game, overall that system could definitely use some love. Because no matter what players are just going to misuse it. Then again, Darkmoon would have less activity without it. It's a real pickle. More so it's just if I invade their world again I'm not going to kill them, though I'm extremely out of practice so just killing people probably isn't an option at the moment haha.

I might also join them in their hilarity, I do love cospvp. If I see someone hosting as an NPC, if it has an enemy I might cosplay as their enemy. Such as my Lautrec versus Darkmoon Firekeeper duels.
