No he's still the standard Asylum Demon. Just sways his hammer and body slams.

Okay, to get it straight, in the first NG its nearly impossible to kill him cause you're not supposed to. In NG+ you're supposed to kill him? I dunno. I'll kill him anyway. Got any tips on dex weapons?

He is easy to kill in NG+, but you won't get the Pilgrim's Key until you talk to Oscar (where you got your Estus Flasks and Asylum Key).
He is a fun fight when you have your stronger weapons.
Now, if From Software was REALLY sadistic.... while you were fighting the Asylum Demon, the floor would break through and you would fight the Stray Demon at the same time! Oh, I want that challenge!

His difficulty scales like everything else but in NG you're pathetically weak while he is actually only moderately strong. You can take him down fat rolling with a base broadsword (like I did). By the time most people reach NG+ their equipment is upgraded and stats are starting to reflect a desired path meaning you scale in power much better than he does. If you're looking for good dex weapons and really want a laugh I recommend the Lifehunt or Great Scythe. He bleeds reeeeeeaaaaaaaal good. I killed him in two hits in NG+ before he could attack.
