Soul Arrows pvp?

I'm struggling with a dex/int pvp build.

My soul arrows always miss, what is the practical pvp use?

No lock on.
They explode you know, it's possible to 'lead' a target with them, much like a fireball.

Well, no one uses them because of low damage, but they should have the same speed as a soul spear, which does much more damage, but only 4 casts I believe

I'm not an expert at Intelligence builds, but those are the most used spells at PVP. And that should be the standard Dex/Int 120 build. Hope this helps.

Then let me contribute...

Soul Arrows are worse then Soul Spears in every way. They move at the same speed, have less tracking, and have a smaller hitbox, making them more dodgable, however, they have an incredible advantage in how Dex effects their cast speed, and doesn't effect Spears much/at all, thusforth they are faster spells. The most appropriate use of soul arrow is casting 5-10 of them, then one Great and Heavy to catch an opponent who isn't paying attention off guard.

You're actually talking about Soul Arrows, not Soul Spears?

EDIT: If any Soul Arrow is worthwhile, I'd urge you to try the Great Heavy Soul Arrow, not only is it the strongest of the Soul Arrows, but its awkward firing speed may catch a few unprepared saps off.

Thank you for tips. What would be some good weapons for this build, I'm using Dagger's currently but having no luck.

Also, What would are some good weapon choices for this build?

Well, you have a plethora of options at your disposal in a DEX/INT build, just because you really do have a world of options to choose from. I'll always recommend Velka's Rapier because I am in love with that weapon, though it's not for everyone.

If you're planning go 40 Dex, any weapon with "B" or "A" dextery scaling is good for you: Balder Side Sword, Great Scythe, Estoc, Ricard's Rapier, Bandit's Knife, Uchigatana, Iato, Murakumo, Flamberge...

Remember, you can also buff them with 3 spells: Magic weapon, Great Magic weapon adn crystal magic weapon, the last one being much more strong.

If you don't like buffs, and you're not planning to go with that High dextery, but high Int like 40+, you can grab those weapons and make them Enchanced, this way they will scale B or A with your Int and have reduced Dex scaling.

you can get 40 great soul arrows a play though, with the usual magic boosting gear their about as strong as say a +15 uchis 2 handed r1 (i think, this estimate may be low...), wish there was a diving dragon ring that increased spell speed or something (not cast time but travel time)

I'm in love with Balder's side sword but I use on other character. Maybe I'll get velka's rapier.

can I apply more than one buff at a time?

I hear you can via glitches, not legitimately though.

My Int / Dex build this is not a Int/Dex variant that's going for Wpn buffs but instead focuses on High Sorcery/Pyro DMG & high casting speed.

What you should be looking at here is the spells, i have Great Souls Arrow (sometimes regular Soul Arrow) & what i mostly use it is to spam & try to bait a Roll BS....you wouldn't belive how many times it worked & sometimes people just get lazy & fail to dodge it & get hit for about 300-400 dmg which is pretty decent.

You can also try to hit your targets locked off, it's really hard but doable.
Also after a few Soul Arrows you can easily surprise your opponent with a Crystal Soul Spear which has a bigger hit box & often they get hit being used to dodging Arrows.

Does it work without the pyro though?

If you have the str to use it, the stone greatsword 2hr2 would work wonders for landing those spells. Otherwise lock off as rynn said.

Just note, I find soul arrows and spears really easy to dodge and deflect with Force. They are most effective from ambush or to make an opponent move/use stamina.
