TWoP + pyros?
Do you think this is a cheap/dishonorable tactic? I can't hit anyone who's smart at dodging with DWGR without using Great Combustion. I want to spray my Fire Whip in their face without getting backstabbed. I want my fireballs to melt their hopeless legs trying to escape from the binding miracle. I know it's way better to do it without it (for coolness points), but sometimes I get frustrated when rhe guys just rolls over all my fireballs/whips/storms. What do you think?

Re: TWoP + pyros?
It'd be effective. Though you would get LOTS of hatemail for it, no doubt bout that.
It's just better to learn to use pyros while locked off. Then you can just land your hits after their feet hit the floor.

I'm practicing but I'm having problems with experienced flippers. The invincibility frames are a joke.

Fighting term time. Zoning!
Pretty much control their movement by forcing their flips. Now would be a good time to learn to cancel GCF.

I'd do it, but I'd practice without it as well.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
Zoning does not work that effectively if you are in an arena setting, I had one guy manage it on me and I was impressed but its a rare thing. and yes the I frames are a joke. If I get caught against a tree in the forest I can just roll through BKGA swings until they run out of stamina without taking a hit.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
Smart one's run for the bridge above the burg. Is it just me that feels that the fact you can inv switch to a black knight shield nerfs pyromancy a little too hard?

Can't block lava, and just try to block tempest. I dare you.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
Yeah the lava is nasty and results in a fall back but its only chaos whip that gets that down before you can swing BK shield destroys great combustion which is a strong weapon in your arsenal. as for tempest usually you can stun them or take of a comprable amount of health before it goes off. either that or run for it. what kills you with that spell is indecision. (or going for the BS when they backed up into a tree, smart cookie that guy )

Heh. federally has a point.
If dark souls PvP were rock paper scissors BS'ing would be amputating your opponents hand.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
You haven't been fighting real pyros if 1 fire tempest doesn't hit for bare minimum 1000 hp. Mine hit for 1680 on my 120 pyro. Instantly fatal most of the time, as Its almost never my first successful hit.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
Its not hard to hit someone with fireballs, just throw them next to you if they are going melee and they will be hit no matter what.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
2 hits with my buffed sword = 1k+ too though. its entirely possible the pyro's I have been fighting have not been very good but I do have fairly good fire resistance (black iron and sunlight maggot atm) 1680 would be a KO though. Hmm.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
You don't cast tempest while the enemy has a weapon buff active. Thats suicide. Tempest is a stealth spell. You get them conditioned to an attack pattern, then cast tempest when they try to punish you being predictable.
Never been good at that car, just gets me bsd. I use great fire ball to punish running attacks because they can't dodge it.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
Tranquil walk of peace is ok, aslong as you don't backstab!
I don't use it much because most people are used backstabbers using this miracle and they tend to use cheap tactics to counter the backstab that will never happen, when they are facing away I use strong attacks as to not backstab or use Sorcery, Pyro and when they are facing me, well I do what I want; Parry, attack, Pyro.
So yeah, go ahead and use it but backstabbing is a NO.

Well you're going to need a bit of poise and defense to take at least one hit, but they will suffer much more I never use combustion, its so boring to kill them in a few casts. I like chaos fire whip, because even if you don't hit, it will leave lava that can protect you, and its not so predictable as chaos FB

Re: TWoP + pyros?
How can it be stealthy when it telegraphs so obviously... guess this is why I stick to PvE for pyro... I dont get it. and dropping fireballs in melee is also bad in my experience. except for the lava which is nasty sometimes.

Honestly, I really only use pyro for Power Within. I'm so bad at hitting people locked-off.

You have to try it out first man!
Watch their attack pattern. I have problem fighting Vit flipping lightning katana users, because all they do its to flip, R1, flip away and repeat, and its so fast that I can't parry. So, equip Pyro hand, wait them to flip towards you and cast right in your own feet.

Re: TWoP + pyros?
Fireballs take a full second to cast nearly. even with dex I believe. if your opponent does not see that and roll around and perforate your back then they deserve to be destroyed for it. and if you lock off just roll until it has hit the floor I frames will soak the hit.
