Poison/toxic mist
Can someone tell me why these must spells get such a bad rep? I've grown to love them and now I find them invaluable! 90% of the time they don't get poisoned, but 100% of the time I can create a cloud of cover for say... Fire tempest, a lightning avelyn, couple of dung pies etc.

Re: Poison/toxic mist
My egghead likes to spit mists too man , but it all depends on the situation as you also know offcourse.
During actual duels I don't use it really often , but I surely use it while invading unfriendly hosts .,
Aside from cover , It's fun spitting a mist a mile away , or to create a wall behind them.
Throw in a poisonous Large Club with Rotten Resin & some throwing knives and dung pies & we are good to go
Never get much hate for poisoning people aside from the players who would complain anyway haha

Re: Poison/toxic mist
Yeh it's definitely a situational spell, I use it more to create panic. That along with a bleed weapon that I buff with charcoal pine resin whilst standing in the centre of three poison mists gives me a major psychological advantage

IDK, they're easy to avoid. In DeS, Acid cloud was very frowned upon. Maybe that is carrying over?

Re: Poison/toxic mist
yeah I never use the acid surge because it can destroy people's weapons right away if they have low durability.
Im always looking for a duel or at least a fight, not an easy kill

Re: Poison/toxic mist
I stick to acid surge for the cloud spells. Toxic mist is great but misses are easy and you only get one cast, and I think overall durability loss is a better threat to buy yourself some time or trap someone. By the way, Ziko, I love the Ebon Hand ref in your signature; I have a bunch of old Ebon Hand cards from the fallen empire set.

Re: Poison/toxic mist
Acid Surge is by far the best mist, because durability loss is a better 'think before you act' then poison/toxic, that usually doesn't even 'land' anyway.
Far more people will run through poison/toxic then will choose to run through Acid; I'm a nutjob though and will completely ignore it if my weaponry isn't crystal.

Re: Poison/toxic mist
I'm practicing with Acid Surge on my FH, the prospect of destroying a ganker's weapons and leaving him helpless or at least forcing him to retire to the bonfire if they end up killing me is just too great. I'll try to roll off the stairs and cast when I land so they fall into it, or maybe on Alvina's bridge where they tend to charge you. It could also give me time to buff my mura and cast PW, a deadly combination in its own right.

Re: Poison/toxic mist
Acid Surge does 85% of a weapons durability (or 160 points, whichever is higher) maximum... and most gankers have repair powder on them.Ghadis_God wrote:I'm practicing with Acid Surge on my FH, the prospect of destroying a ganker's weapons and leaving him helpless or at least forcing him to retire to the bonfire if they end up killing me is just too great. Re: Poison/toxic mist
^ I doubt that after possible hours of ganking a team would have their weapons above that. My guess is that they might occasionally use the powder but I doubt they have it quickselected. The time it takes for them to dig in their inventory is usually enough for me to kill the other guy.

Re: Poison/toxic mist
i hear casting every mist at your opponent and then dumping a stack of fire surge is a great way to win a fight.
that's a win right? when their console freezes?

Re: Poison/toxic mist
Oh haha right
I haven't played magic for over 10 years now , but I used to play , collect & love it too !
The last time I played , Urza's saga & 7th Edition were still type 2 if I remember correctly so I don't know about Ebon Hand cards unfortunately. Im thinking about playing it again for a few years now , because its a great game , but I don't know anyone who still plays it anymore
The art is amazing indeed & black has always been my favourite colour to play with
