Where do YOU go on your vacation.

So im wondering where you guys are gonna spend your summer holidays.
Me, i havent been on vacation for the last 10 years and finaly got a load of money i dont really need so i booked this little trip 2 days ago.
Im gonna go to Turkey to a 5star all inclusive hotel and drink coctails all day for 7 days lol.
My hotel got 15 swimming pools 7 restaurants and alot of nice entertainment. Im so excited that i cant wait to go there. It was a bit expansive since i booked a bit late but who cares haha.

Korea is where I'm going in about 3 days.

I'm going nowhere actually. Saving some money. Hm...

Why the hell do the trees look so computer-generated to me?!? I guess it's the blur or the bad compression or whatever, they look like low res sprites or something pfffff sorry I guess I'm being weird again.

Anyway, I wish you a great time there in advance. May all the 15 pools and all the Bahama Mamas be worth the money...

This is really weird. I'm actually on my holiday right now and I took a video just to upload to these forums, I'll upload it in this thread when I'm back in 48 hours from now!

Going to do a tour of the Gulf this weekend, but I'll be going to Brazil for Christmas.

I did a breakdown in serious' random thread but it fits better here. My wife and I stayed in Seneca Falls which is believed to be the inspiration for Bedford Falls from "It's a Wonderful Life." That's at the top of Cayuga Lake. We only did one day of wine between Cayuga and Seneca lakes. Visited seven wineries, two breweries and a distillery. We like sweet wines and found plenty of good ones including a place that specializes in dessert wines and another that uses cranberries heavily. One of the breweries was excellent with a wide variety of beer and the distillery was an eye opener. I've had all sorts of wine and craft beer but liquor has always been mass produced stuff. I found my new favorite gin and bourbon. I can elaborate more on any booze you want a better review on but don't want a wall of text if you don't. We also found a cheesery and didn't hit even a quarter of the wineries between those two lakes and there's more on the other side of each lake as well as more around a few other lakes nearby. A lot of nice scenery too and several state parks to enjoy. Spent less than 150 on the day and that includes lunch, three bottles of wine, a bottle of gin and a pound of cheese

I wont go anywhere. I don’t like spending a lot of money on a vacation. I would rather buy something useful.

Nice to see that this threat got some replies as it started a bit slow when i made it. I thought nobody was interested in sharing there vacation destinations .

@Forum pirate, i also make around 10k a year with my **** job but if you save a few years you can go on vacation anyway haha. Also here in Holland we get 1 month salary extra in june that our employers save for us over the whole year.

@Whatdoesthependantdo, I guess you mean the gulf of mexico? I always wanted to go to south america and do something like that but as i live in europe a trip like that is way to expansive for me. It will cost me like 5-6k euro's. And thats ALOT of money to me .

Waw man that sounds really nice, what were the gin and bourbon you discovered? The cranberry wines sound interesting too.

The gin and bourbon were both at Finger Lakes Distilling Co. just outside of Watkins Glen. The floral presence of the gin is phenomenal and the smoothest bourbon i've ever tried. Forget the bourbon's name but the gin is called Seneca Drums. The cranberry wine was at montezuma winery who also had liquor and mead. The mead was good and the liquor I tried was also honey based and tasted like Polish stuff i've tried before. Great taste but feel the buuuuuurn.

It really seems like you know your stuff when it comes to alcohol! Haha!

And by the way, when you say things like "just outside lake such n such", please remember I'm on the other side of the planet so it means nothing to me

I figured you wouldn't know most of the places (Nascar fans would know Watkins Glen) but if you or anyone else wanted to consider it for vacation you'd know what to look for. Or if you wanted to order anything online you'd know which places I'm yakking about

Ah that's true! Might look them up now that you've said that.

If I save money I can't snowboard. Thats just not happening.

Well when you have a hobby like snowboarding, I don't think youll need as many vacations

So expensive though. $70 a ticket, $40 in gas, $20 in food. Need new boots every 2 or 3 years at $150, new coat and pants every 2 or 3 years at $90+ each, bindings every 3-5 at $150+ and good boards last me 5 years depending on luck and cost $500+. That works out to around 160 ish for 1 day on the mountain.

The 3rd place, it's the only way to have a good vacation.

So are you on vacation or do you live in the 3rd place making it a staycation??

Fulltime mum, so I'm always on vacation.

I live at home with less people in my life; I consider that vacation. Only can handle people for so long, before I either dislike them or don't care at all too much.
