    Low-level invasions... Empty Low-level invasions...

    Post by Gazman0169 Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:53 am

The other night I created a new SL16 toon, with the express purpose to use it for low-level invasion, mainly to see what (if anything) I have been missing, and to be totally honest with you it was a complete and utter failure.

I either completely owned, or was myself completely owned, by everyone I invaded, there was no inbetween, which culminated in a 3v1 showdown where a bald-headed fog ring wearing host and his two bald-headed fog ring wearing buds *****-slapped me to hell and back using weapons and fists that caused little to no damage whatsoever. I'm ashamed to say it but for around fifteen minutes they bounced me around like a soddin pinball, and it got so bad at one point that they even dropped 99 Humanity and 69 Double-humanity just so they could prolong my agony further. In the end, I run to the area beneath the Parish, dropped all that was given me, and rolled off the edge. Needless to say I won't be trying that again anytime soon, and have since returned back to developing my SL120 build, at least at the run up to this level the balance of skill is in most instances pretty much equal, and for me a hell of a lot more rewarding.

I would still like to know what it is that my fellow gamers find so appealing about low-level invading though, as I'm damned if I know what it is?

pretty much exactly what you just said is the experience 95% of the time.

Go to the Catacombs, man. Best spot ever for invasions. Equip Darkhands in both slots and just goof around.

I probably wouldn't be playing this game anymore if the glitch weren't in the game. I've played through it well over fifty times now. I'm not making a build from scratch ever again.

BB glitch allows you to do **** like redo a build you wasted a couple points on 'cause you thought you could do something with it that was hunky-dorey in theory but useless in practice. I actually just completely redid my pyro build because last time I wanted to incorporate melee, and I shouldn't have. Now it's straight up 50 att beastmode, and all in about eight hours. If there was no glitch, I might have three builds. As it stands, I have nine.

And if you don't want to get griefed, play hollow or offline. I don't even sign in to PSN till my builds are done.

Low level invasions can be funny, if you use it properly. I like doing it to show glitchers that good armour, family masks and lightning weapons aren't the answer to everything. Last night I was using the 4 cracked Red-Eye Orbs from Firelink on a Lvl 10 Cleric with starting gear. Got these 2 idiot glitchers taking on Havel. I just stood there and cast force as they tried to backstab me and let Havel to do the rest. I can honestly say I was laughing so much I think I peed a little silly

Boost humanity count, in my game im at 33 now and from what I was told it boosts resistances and chances to find items. Im quite sure that saying is true since when I made it to the Forest I got a Halberd from a Black Knight when I killed them. Yeah I might get some heat for invading at low level but at least I didn't BB glitch my stuff, I did it to boost my humanities and now im finding gear and items much easier now. I also am hollow now after getting the humanities I wanted.

At least? Glitching gear and playing hollow is less harmful than mismatched fights with new players. By bbing I can keep myself to myself until other players are generally better prepared to deal with me, without making farming for the items I need take 10 hours.

I meant it as me doing the glitch and having FAR better stuff than the people I fought making me basically undefeatable to them. I lost plenty times the few times I invaded and not all my humanities are from being an invader some are being white phantoms. I cant even beat the lake dragon yet so that should be a indication of how well I am in terms of the game.

Nothing in this game takes 10 hours to get.
I can create any level 120 build in 5 hours without the BB-Glitch; it's just laziness, I've never liked it, I wish the glitch was gone.

I get a feeling you are new to the game, so this is expected. It took me 67 hours to reach level 105 on my first ever character.

I'm not that efficient in pve. I'd wager most others arn't either. It takes me 10-15 hours a build, more If I need to stack spells

The BB glitch is nice, cause lets face it - it's so damn convenient. However it's one of those things I wish I never knew about; romping through the game with all the best equipment to get to the good PvP areas/Lordvessel is just so boring and takes all the fun out of the game, but at the same time I also can't be bothered to start a new build from scratch and spend time farming everything I need for it and progressing more slowly through the game with rubbish equip when I know that I don't have to...

Honestly reaching level 120 is the biggest obstacle for any of my builds. I spend 1 or 2 hours gathering all my stuff, and then 3-6 hours leveling up.

EDIT: Only build that takes me more then 10 hours is heavy spell users, doing NG+ slows me down; and pyromancy flames are tons of souls on their own, which slows down leveling.

My current 80 pyro was finished in 2 hours, my 120 40/40 in 45 minutes. Its a huge time saver, so I can focus on pvp instead of farming random crap. I'd have half the play time if it wasn't there, because I really just don't care about pve after seeing both ending and beating ng++, so I wouldn't be willing to put up with it for new builds.

    If it's tonight -

Hollow Thief Set (with Wanderer Manchette)
    Crest Shield (unupgraded)
Notched Whip (unupgraded) / fire rapier +1 for 2/3v1 or twinkers
    Canvas Talisman (for force)
    Wolf Ring

I'm co-oping with the same (cept for Fire Whip + 5). I only want to invade twinkers/griefers, but if I invade others it's not like they don't stand a chance as everything apart from the rapier, which I wouldn't use on a lonesome new player, is considerably worse than starting gear. What where you using?

P.S I coop in the burg a hell of a lot more than I invade.

No no no, the BB glitch isn't the issue. The INCREDIBLE imbalance with elemental weapons is the problem. Even without BB its not that hard for me to get fire weapons and pwn the **** out of Burg/Parish, simply because anyone with base stars for the weapon can get end game damage numbers out of elementals.

@OP, I don't understand the guys who hang in the Burg and one shot new characters with +5 lightning weapons. Though I also don't understand the hornet ring BS fishers just looking for the OHKO or the rainbow brigade gankers in the forests. I just don't see the fun in any of it.

Someone asked what gankers got out of it, managing to obtain something easily that you used to find difficult to get can feel gratifying... that and they may view it as "payback" for when they were new and lost to more experienced players
