I prefer it if you had to sacrifice more though slake, just like I wish the Dark Souls covenants was more definite with your choice and there was a load of stuff you could only use in that covenant like armour and weapons and such

Well it just bugged me that whichever of the main factions you went with, it was the little guys who got the worst deal.

Come to think of it, that's just like real life.

DLC that's already on the disk. But you'll have to pay MORE to unlock it. Now that's just complete bullsh*t.

Trying to make your game something it is not, something I see a **** ton in the gaming world. You aren't a writer, so don't try to be one. I can't tell you have many examples of this there is. If you wan't to make it an action game, make it just that. Don't try to seem intellectual, don't try to get me to feel sorry for the main character by **** his wife and kidnapping her. I literally don't give any care if anyone dies in the game, I just want to blow things up. Do what you know how to do. Doom is a great example, 0 plot, amazing game. Though this doesn't mean I want overly commercialized Michael Bay games, companies just need to realize what they do right and focus on doing more of it. They aren't some innovator, they're trying to entertain people and make money.

I don't know about you Tolvo, but I would like each company to focus on what they're good at. Hideo Kojima, you're great at making cool games and mechanics. I just don't want to sit through 3 hours of cutscenes and codec converstations. Stick to game mechanics.

Ninja theory, just quit. You've made literally NO amazing games AT ALL. Hand the new DMC back to capcom and let them give the bloody reboot to a more accomplished developer.

I'm going to qseudo-quote a relevant youtube quote that I really liked pertaining to this. I say pseudo-quote because, given the nature of youtube comments, it was very poorly spelled and hardly legible, so I've retooled the phrases to make sense while retaining their original meaning winking

'I remember when I was four years old playing Banjo Kazooie. I loved that game even if I couldn't understand what was going on at the time. I just loved it. When I was 7 I got Banjo Tooie and I just loved it even more! I hate playing CoD, WoW, Fable, Assassin's Creed, and everything else these days. I just want games like Banjo Kazooie or Tooie again, but people these days don't seem to care about feeling in a game. They just churn out a game with good graphics and sound, they don't care about the feeling.'

    In response:
'They don't make games with love anymore sad'

I was just curious, but what rating do you think a game will get if it showed a child or a pregnant woman getting crushed by a monster?

Well it's more that old platformer style game like that, spyro, crash bandicoot.. They've all gone.

The only games in that sorta style left are Zelda (which in fairness has been made more grown up and different now) and super mario.. No diversity in that genre at all, but noone wants others Shrug

I do wish companies also learned from mistakes.

Metroid: Other M...One of the worst games I've ever played flat out. What did the maker have to say about people disliking the game? He considered players insatiable and ignorant, that his game was great.

A game that focuses on story...And why Samus is a woman that does anything a man tells her to and lets a guy call her princess...Jesus.

I got one that was bugging me today in Skyrim. Having merchants have limited gold available to buy loot. I understand realism but I'm just going to go to several and sell the stuff anyway all you're doing is taking time I'd rather spend in a dungeon

That's why I didn't like New Vegas as much as Fallout 3. Too many factions & whichever one you went with meant sacrificing a favourite, like The Brotherhood of Steel if you sided with Mr. House to preserve New Vegas. I didn't do it. In fact I didn't do any of them because I couldn't make my mind up. As far as I'm concerned 'New Vegas' was very unsatisfying to play because of this.

I found it to add soo much more, fallout seemed kinda bland with its black and white dilemmas, it was either Hitler levels of evil or noble and just. New Vegas i felt had so much more politics, it felt good in an RPG

No, its a completely *** backwards idea. On disk "DLC" isnt really DLC at all, the files are already on the game that you own just locked off. that would be like me selling you a car and sealing off the back seat. sure you already own the car, but you need to pay me to open up the back, its a paid feature.

on disk "DLC" is no different, just cheaper. Terrible idea.

I dont have many problems with DLC otherwise.

A mistake for a company though is a seriously complex issue. For example, many say that letting criterion do NFS games is a mistake, but Hot Pursuit 2010 has sold roughly 5.2 million copies and is the most fun game in the series since Hot Pursuit 2 imo.

So others may believe its a mistake but I don't. Similarly, Skyrim is seriously dumbed down from previous Elder Scrolls games, which I have a huge problem with, but its been very good for the company, despite the irritation of the long time fans.

how long has this thred been here?

and i agree with the op's statement about MH.FU and the knocked out status, its annoying as heck and even if its not a bashing attack it happens, when to inflict it on an enemy your self you have to hit the head (exactly) many times with a slow @$$ hammer.

also for dks: pinwheel, he's a random necromancer who's just sort of there as far as i can tell, his masks ruin pvp diversity, and his spot could have been filled by a old monk esq "nito summons gl servent to fight you" sort of thing, then said summoned gl would get a mask if he beat the host(the masks are a part of the game but making them harder to get would help.)

    Yeah that's...Wait a minute...

How many times do I have to say it, Mary Sue main characters, and games that as you play them you are fully aware that characters and events are just plot devices.

Oh man, I know I have so much to contribute, but I am not sure if I remember any right now...hmmmmmm....

For one, when a story gives like 15 different endings. I understand 2-3 or maybe 4, that's cool. But at a certain point, it just reveals how bad of a writer you are since you can;t even choose how to conclude your own story. Something about a dramatic single ending really gives a game weight. However, the ending doesn't really feel like it matters when there are multiple endings.
There are exceptions, like Bioshock and Knights of the Old Republic. Both had a good/evil ending, and both endings felt very right and valued. I appreciated both endings for these games. So, one or two endings for me.

"Hey look, there's an old man with a mystical device to give me that will cause me to save the world."

"Hey there, I'm plot device. This is the sixth game in the series and we just don't even feel like hiding it anymore. Here's the Special Thing. Take it to this place and meet some random people who will swear loyalty to you, for having said thing. Bring them to bad guy, fight him and lose sacrificial dude you got totally attached to, because you were pretty sure he was sacrificial. Don't worry that you're just 12, trust me you will kick the **** out of seasoned warriors and adult wizards. I mean really, the last hero was 11 so how worse could it go for you? Well I'm off, I'm no longer needed in this universe as my only purpose was to advance the plot. Enjoy the game, I know I won't be enjoying it because you'll never see me again."
