This is also my -current- build, and I think it's really one of my best so far.

First off, I underestimated the defensive properties oh Havels shield. There is NO WAY that a 90% reduction in magic makes Crystal Soul Sphere do like 40 damage in total. The shield is pretty much indestructible, and as such you can block, instead of dodge. I believe others have told me this before, but the shield is so efficient that I had to see it to believe it. I'd call ******** otherwise.

As you have 50 strength, the Dragon Tooth does a lot of damage on each hit, and you have enough poise to just cut loose and give the swing regardless of what your opponent is doing. Be aware of parries, as they might occur. The weapon is more efficient with Sun Light Blade on it, and yes, the tooth can be buffed. In many cases, Sun Light Blade can be stronger then Dark Moon Blade purely because of defense differences. Do not hesitate to use it instead of DMB.

If you have the urge to annoy the *** out of someone, you can stand with your back to a wall and place your shield up at nearly any time. The average spell caster has approximately 40 hostile casts of their dangerous spells (WoG, Great Combustion, etc, have less). You can easily soak up an entire armada of spells without loosing more then a third of your HP pool. I once lost about 1200 total from a spell-caster with a surprisingly large pool of spells.

Players are likely to attempt to backstab you when using this build. Kick them. Kick every last one of them. Kick parry users too, they will also stop.

Your crossbow is very good for opponents that run. This addition to the build has turned many matches from losses to wins.

I actually don't fight with lock on enabled, and I'm pretty good at blocking dead angles. They aren't as hard as people act like they are.

Can a kick really stop a bs attempt then? I wouldn't trust trying to do it locked off with lag and all.

A kick can stop a BS attack even better locked off.
In fact, it's difficult to backstab while your opponent is locked off, because they turn with you a lot faster.

Did I mention PvE is a joke with this build?
    Seriously, I stagger bosses.

How many attacks do you get in a row with the tooth? 120 stamina is prety low for a build like this.

You can't block dead angles, dead angle attempts yes, but the thing itself no.

I know you know, just making that clear.

Anyways, how do you handle roll bs's with that build? I have trouble fending off the good roll bsers with ugs and they have much wider hitboxes and frequently negate the bs damage.

I always wondered that too, since all the clubs have verticle attacks, apart from the rolling R1 and the LC R2. Seems pretty difficult to combat roll BS even if you unlock and whip around. Unless you spam the ground pound the whole time.

The trick is in the R2 attack. R2 has a large abnormal pause in it, which throws off the amaeture rollers... and then afterwards, the actual impact can cause damage for longer then most attacks, giving a very narrow window during which their attempt can succeed. Furthermore their attempt is punished with about 850 total damage in penalties.

So "good rollers still bs the crap out of me" was what I got from that paragraph. I don't think its the build thats really good here, I would put money that its you as a player. I could give you a broad sword and hollow gear and I'd bet you still win more than you lose.

I suppose you could read it that way...
In my defense, the only time I've openly said "I kick *** pretty well" I got tons of negative feedback for the comment, so I don't bother justifying how much of a builds success is my skill. I just go; "Hi, this is the build, and this is what it can do if your head isn't up your ***".
Roll Backstabs don't really get me too often, because they are easy to track, Lag is usually what serves me a backstab. I don't see why others can't say the same.
Maybe PS3 players are just overall better then the people I get to fight.

Just pulling out a Shotel is a pretty obvious indicater that you're going to run up and R2 with it. Most players who can parry are going to do just that.

    Shotel?
    Meet Havels Shield R2.
I've faced several users of shotels so far, I just push R2, then keep blocking. They stagger when they hit me, and then I punish them with a 1100 damage counter hit.
Shotels are very stupid and don't work.

My main toon uses Havel's gear. It isn't a true cosplay, but it is fantastic for PvP. The numbers in my signature are all the matches I've won and lost, and the majority of the wins are with Havel's set, except for 3, which was from my ultra troll dex toon that forces people off ledges >:3

I haven't been using the shield, as I lack the STR, but I have been using Tower Knight Shield, and I have been dead angled loads of times; however, I'm not afraid to bleed, and I let em, when they attack they can't block, and I don't stagger. So I punish the hell outta em. And if I can suprise them with a few toxic mists and GCFBs then all the better.

Magic defense (dmb) is usually higher than lightning defense (slb) and many shields block more magic than lightning, also GMB almost completely negates magic, and there is no spell to cut lightning damage.

    Pretty much this.
It's the rapier effect all over again, 71 more AR from DMB, but only 40 extra damage per hit usually.
