Why, oh, why?
Why does the Dusk Crown Ring have to halve your HP? It could've been such a good ring. It would've essentially been one of those Attunement-granting rings on steroids.

Re: Why, oh, why?
It does make it a bit pointless, but without the HP drawback it'd be one of the most powerful rings in the game.

Maybe a 25% decrease would have been better.

Re: Why, oh, why?
Add that with Curse, and you got a quarter amount of health.
Now, this is Ragnok the Odd
http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=2872323638667746
Be warned, that the character is built for death... but it is designed to continue again and again and again.
If you add being cursed, you have over 150 health... that's it.
An old build I have. Fun, and interesting. Stuck at the Tree of Chaos. I hate trees.

I'm thinking like 10%. I guess I'm just a little bitter because this ring would have been such a help to one of my builds.

10% on an 1800 health build is only 180 HP... Barely a scratch.
25% would be ideal.

Re: Why, oh, why?
10% would make it hands down the best ring for non-cannon sorcery builds. I think it'd be more interesting to take away an attunement slot or two. Versatility for longevity.

That's an interesting curveball. Would make the ring very unique and different but not altogether useless as it is now.

Naw. It'd be worthless in that case. Better to double up on a spell to get twice the amount of casts than lose an att. slot and only get 50% more. Any spell stacked once is enough casts.

400 hp, dusk ring, pw, rtsr, sanctus. you'll regen hp at the same rate you lose it. Thats a 90% damage buff. Now cmw almost anything and 1 shot everyone. Just don't get hit. A great scythe r2 would hit for around 1500 hp.

Say you want 8 or 9 spells, and more casts for all of them. I'd sacrifice a single ATT slot and a ring slot for 30 casts of Fire Tempest, 12 of GC, 6 of GCF, and 12 of GF.

Re: Why, oh, why?
You know, a REALLY skilled FT user could destroy almost anyone with that many casts (as long as their opponent didn't have DWGR). For that matter, a really skilled FT user could destroy most players with a single full cast. Also, that many GC's for me with BDCR and CoD is just under 100k total damage.

Re: Why, oh, why?
I think 30% would be the most ideal loss of hp, the ring would still be pretty powerful. I can imagine the fun you could have by combining the TCC and the dusk crown ring - the ring would cancel out the loss of spell casts, and you still have enough health to be viable in pvp.

For glass cannons it is perfectly viable.
