    PVP Pyromancer build.

Post by Ecko on Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:27 am

    http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=1487725016700628

    So, a few things.

First, where should I put those extra 3 levels?

Second, I've honestly never been able to use pyromancies effectively in PVP before except for combustion. I also haven't actually tried using anything else very much. So what pyromancies are best for PVP (The ones I put in there are just the ones I'd use for PVE)? And are there any tricks for using something like a Great Fireball effectively against a real person?

For the Great Fireball, learn to manually aim and land it near or ahead. It has a blast radius so it gives you a small room for errors. Also, take a great fireball or combustion and replace it with tempest, it's great once you can get a grip on field control.

http://tinyurl.com/7nb8yaz How bout this? Add a single point to str and the other 2 to end so you can fast roll with the winged spear. I love it because it helps with the above mentioned field control.

my favorite build is very very similar. dex/pyro builds are one of the best options by far, and my favorite. http://tinyurl.com/6s8bexb

Fruit, you know you're light enough for the balder leggings, right? They'd put you at the MLGS poise break point.

Drop Vit to 48, use the last five levels to get Dex to 45 for max cast speed. Swap Hornet for Wolf ring. Without poise, your casts will get interrupted constantly.

    Okay, 2.0 here: http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=4837269246335837

How does that look? And is fire surge actually useful in PVP? I figure it's good for putting pressure on an enemy so they can't get close, but like I said I'm sort of a noob at this.

And sorry Cloudy, but I don't like spears lol.

It's a shame, you're just short of the endurance necessary for a Katana, which would be an excellent addition to your build with such high dex.

This is a great build though, fast and powerful.

Fair enough ecko. Fire Surge is good if you use it in controlled bursts, otherwise you'll get roll bs'd.

    @ cloudy
Wyrm did some testing a little while back MLGS has the same poise breakpoint as all the other greatswords.

    >_> I still don't trust that thing. I'm staying on the safe side and sticking to 56 on all my builds.

Oh, thank you for reminding me. My build here has 66 poise with the wolf ring. I honestly don't know the poise break of any weapons yet, so how much stuff will 66 poise stop from stunning me?

if you want to see a master pyro at work look no further then this vid, its basically what made me fall in love with pyro. I often will go pure pyro no weapons like this and i am actually rather successful, but sometimes i feel cheap

the person in the video i posted had 0 poise, used iron flesh to make up for it. he uses a lot of tactics that work really well for dual gloves. how he pretends to not know he cant roll with iron flesh then hits them with a firetempest as they go in to attack. or how he two hands his pyro glove(yea you can do that) to block avelyn bolts. sooo bad ***.
