Any Fallout 3 PC players?
I just got GOTY edition for my PC to relive the good old days, haha. Just wondering if anyone here plays it and if they mod at all? I'm looking to mod it, but probably would end up ruining my whole life if I tried.

Havent played it in ages. It got too boring. Basically go NE, get the rifle, kill everything. Do anchorage, get more gun, killmore evrything. Even when I switched it up it was repetitive.

Play the original fallout and fallout 2. I'm still waiting for them to actually do a decent job in remaking the game.

If you need mods I suggest that you go to the Nexus sites, I've managed to mod out my Skyrim game to the point that I don't think I could ever play the game without them . Furthermore, the Nexus' mod installation and sorting software is very good.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
Not a PC Fallout Player, but played Fallout on the PS3 with all DLCs, and played all except the swamp place (which just crashed constantly). I never did any quests, I mostly just explored the entire world to find as much treasures as possible, and cover the entire world by foot alone. The only places I dodged, were the cities... I usually had a trailer that I used to store my inventory I could not carry, and when I found it I would put them in one of the power stations that were small with enough storage to store as much stuff as needed.
Was great... a Survivalist of the World, with houses at every power station. Sometimes I followed a route VIA road, or by dirt, or the 'escalated' roads that players usually can not reach, the power lines, or just went on a whim.
IMO, I had a Sniper Rifle, Hunting Rifle, a Sledge Hammer, Mines, Grenades, and a 10mm Pistol. Went I do, I replace the Pistol with a Laser Pistol, and I also carry a Plasma Rifle when I get it, and replace my hunting rifle with the Plasma Rifle.
I was famous for having an entire table that held a table trophy of killed Enclaved Soldiers. I usually wear an Officer Uniform of the Enclave.
My African with the Awesome shades and facial hair... ya, we went across the world together... or at least, the Capital Wasteland. 8)

When I get bored I start over, call the character Hannibal and turn him loose.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
I played 'em all back to Wasteland, and loved Fallout 3. It was particularly great because I'm in the DC/VA area, and actually being able to go to your own burnt out Metro station in the game to shoot mutants was awesome. I also really enjoy the loot gathering and survival aspects of it. My home base in the game is usually the unmarked three story "trap house" near the Arlington Library. Once you get bored fragging everything in VATS, I found doing real time non-VATS melee combat was pretty fun.
I'm also excited about the Wasteland 2 development that's going on. I donated to their kickstarter event and am going to help them develop an in-game location. Freakin' sweet.

Nothing better than going out for a nice walk in mutant territory and hunting me some green-skins. Liberating the slaver camps is fun too (even though the slaves never try to escape...sigh)

I usually get myself a Robot as my comrade, and I wear a military uniform. An Army of Two, I call it. I also killed my dog for some food. Survival of the fittest, and I needed the food to heal myself.

Blarg. Robots are superior. Now, imagine if I made a mount out of an Albion Scorpion.

Actually, I did.
I also gave the boy with the party hat to some deathclaws in the sanctuary.

Also, to note one thing; I collected about over 70 quantnum colas into a storage area, and it was glowing blue and black... the black being nuka-cola.
After a While, I sorted them in a stack, and got myself some mines under each set as the 'support'. Then I got a rocket launcher and... I died by being implanted by bottles.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
...well, thats understandable. god damn was he annoying...
My camp was the Washington monument, i could see all of the Mutant territory from the very top, and it was nice having two well equipped BoS spayce muhreens outside the gate
I too ran with the hunting rifle, 10 mm, combat knife, grenades, and the man-opener a hybrid chainsaw i found in the Pitt. Favorite DLC? gotta be Anchorage.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
Favourite DLC... hm.
Anchorage was cool, but it seemed more Arcade than RPG to me. I think that the best one, would be... the pitt was cool, but not the best. The swamp as crap. The alien one destroyed my play... I guess Broken Steel was the best.
HOWEVER, I liked all but the swamp, and I HATE the alien one, because it was the reason why I stopped playing Fallout 3.
I was always a sniper hunter, using the 3-bullet sniper rifle from the church near the deathclaw sanctuary that I always got (because I love it). Sniping foes, and bringing them to mines and traps I always set up... I was good at making man-made walls with pieces of furniture I found, and stacked them at a door.
Playing New Vegas... I loved hardcore mode, and I love the skills, but the enemies and map was a piece of crap. too small, too little in terms of destruction, and little to no beauty... of course, I used the blue laser to make myself feel like a god.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
I disagree, New Vegas had tons of charm and beauty, for one it wasnt green and bloom, which was nice. it did however feel a little lonely, but i suppose thats the desert for you...it did make enemies far and few between, but when you did come upon say, a legion assassination squad, it was one hell of a fire fight.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
Yeah I liked the weapons and factions in NV, but the landscape as a desert doesnt give the "Apocalyptic wasteland" feel. (Yeah yeah "Untouched by the war", still.)
The Vaults were the best areas in NV imo.

It seems too clean to me, sure Freeside is pretty dirty, but still restricted. Needs more NPCs in general.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
Who needs NPC anyways? I made the world independent from government, which is awesome. It was either that, or side with... House? Is that his name. I don't remember. The one with robots for an army.
New Vegas had all teams ****... EXCEPT for the Followers of the Apocolypse and the Remanent Enclave people across Vegas... And also the Ghengis guys as well. Screw the Legion, NCR, and everyone else. Let's bring some Anarchy.

Re: Any Fallout 3 PC players?
House is a straight up looney toon. ever go peek around his tool shop?
As for factions, im with the NCR. they got that Imperial guardsmen feel to them..
the followers are cool guys i suppose
Ceaser doesnt need to worry bout his headache anymore (keh heh heh heh)
The Kahns and the resulting fiends are scum. exterminate on sight.
but the real heros are the Boomers... cleansing the wasteland of savages, one b-52 bomber at a time
