CAN'T trade with Snuggly!

I'm about at the end of the game (first play) and, as I said in the title, I can't trade anything with Snuggly! If I leave something into the chest and then exit the game or simply roll down the cliff, when I come back there isn't any item, neither the one I left!
I have never trade with this merchant before and I saw the list of suitable items here in the WikiSite... What am I doing wrong ?

Chest? You're supposed to drop the items in the nest, quit/reload and it'll be replaced with a new item.

Chest? There is no chest, its a nest. I believe you're in the wrong spot. Did you get the big crow to fly you back to the Asylum and find the small nest on the cliff edge?

Yeah. You must *return* to the Asylum (you will see hollows with torches), and immediately go towards the left you will come to the cliff with a little bird's nest. You will hear Snuggly "give me warm, give me soft," and that's where you drop the items. Either quit and reload or respawn from the bonfire inside the asylum.

Sorry, I mean nest and I'm in the right place btw (Northern Undead Asylum)! Any idea ?

Honestly, I can't hear him, and I'm sure i put the item in the right place, inside the nest, next to the eggs!

If you can't hear snuggly speak when you arrive st the nest something is wrong.
