That might be because we’re used to see the heavy armor flip around. If all heavy armor users didn’t use the flip ring they would be a lot cooler IMO.
I think you're right. Who here thought that the Havel's set looked freaking awesome until you saw that everyone else used it? And they were flipping with it...

Yes. If havels and the rest of the heavy armor were fat rolling then they would be a lot cooler.

They would also die. using it properly isnt cool enough to make me not take 2 free hits every time you roll.

You don’t notice much of a change with the bigger weapons but smaller weapons become really dangerous. They are fast and can inflict a lot of damage when you don’t have defenses.
This is correct. It's because of the way defense works. The more defense you have, the more small weapons are penalized. Large weapons are not penalized as much (they have more damage deducted, but it's a smaller proportion of their total damage than for small weapons). So when you have no defense, suddenly small weapons aren't penalized at all anymore, so they are extremely dangerous. Large weapons weren't penalized that much by armor to begin with, so you don't notice as much of a difference.

You heard him. The forum hunk has approved of my post.
I read your thread about the AR. It was really helpful

They should not need to roll. They have all the poise in the world and can just tank hits. Using heavy weapons they can stunlock.

even full giants has huuuge poise. Hammering someone to death with the dga in the small bonfire room in the depths is so freaking fun XD thats what heavy armor should be used for.

careful backstepping prevents counter hitting If I am not mistaken. sadly I have had very little opportunity to test seeing as how its an uncommon tactic xD

Regarding G. Halberd on earlier post, I recall its slow recovery and a very valuable moveset for open BS.. I recommend Element Pike has more reach, better moveset, and faster recovery time, with decent amount of damage.. Demon Spear can be at par too but the damage is slightly lower.. which goes a long way when it comes to BS damage.

Heavy Armor user bad habit of tanking hits, overconfident on poise... thus you can exploit on that as weakness to counter..

The more experience players wouldn't depend too much on full heavy armor.. they prefer to avoid being hit totally.

I just know that if you hit someone with the dma twice, you will stagger them. And that means they are dead. DEAD

Yes. That’s what heavy armor is for. Tanking hits like a pro and crushing them under your big weapon. Not flip around like a ninja and use a little dex weapon, or just dish for a BS.

@Hahalo its not the experienced players who avoid getting hit its everyone xD
although knowing when to tank one hit to get a kill is immensely valuable.

the atrong attack is needed to have the same reach as the g halberd. Nearly same time, and the g halberd dead angles. With the g halberd, just swing if you're going to hit. You dont wiff if it gets blocked or if you hit them. And it has such huge reach, they cant roll and hit me if they dodge it. And it can punish bs fishers hard with the 2h r2 attack.

I use a Dragon King Greataxe. May not have scaling, but let me say that Axes have a different swing take than hammers, with it being sluggish and then instant... hammers are more around the same speed when you press r1 from start to finish.

Greataxes also have a shorter distance, but the speed of swinging is a little more instant. The Damage Scaling is different for each axe. Greataxe is the Vice of Ultra Greatswords; Demon Axe is Strength Only; Dragon Axe has none; Black Knight Axe is similar scaling to all BK weapons, more strength than dexterity.

They are ok, and they are not useless. However, the worst range of all the axes is the normal Greataxe, so go for the fusion axes or a black knight axe.
