    SL1 NG+ Nito Empty SL1 NG+ Nito

    Post by sjackson12 Sun Jun 10, 2012 2:57 am

I think in every playthrough I've taken this guy out on the first try by tanking. That doesn't work anymore, and I've spent about 5-6 hours on him to no avail. My current build:

    http://tinyurl.com/7v7ubae

I've also tried things like grass crest, stone armor, mask of the mother, etc. My problem is more with those three skeletons. What usually happens is:

The three skeletons sort of attack me at once and kill my stamina. It's hard to hit one or two because it exposes you to an attack from the other (and I'll die in two hits). These skeletons are so unpredictable and buffed! They sort of flip all over the place and annoy the hell out of me. And if Gravelord Dance shows up at the same time, forget it.

Occasionally I will be about to finish them off but get killed from behind by Nito.

If I do get to Nito, the fireball takes away most his health and the crest shield negates most of the AoE attack. However I have to stay close enough to hit him with fire, while far enough away such that I don't back into the OTHER skeletons, which happens quite often.

If I do hit him with all eight fireballs, I still have to finish him off with melee. In this case I get killed by the overhand attack or by the big skeletons that just appeared out of nowhere.

I'm looking for some tips to at least make getting past the first part easier. Thanks.

Have you tried not moving at all from the start and waiting for Nito to come to you? The skeletons should come to you before he does, and you can then take them on and kill them with your divine weapon (if you have it on) I've only faced him a few times, and they weren't ever a problem so I didn't really pay attention as to how to kill him, since I was never SL1.

    Hope this helped. Good luck.

This. If you're straight up blocking his AoE (and you can dodge the GLSD), then if you just wait where you drop down and kill teh skeletons before Nito gets there, you shouldn't even have to worry about the big skeletons. If you take him at that little alcove where you fall down too, you can even run at the skeletons enough to avoid the AoE and still not aggro them.

With the skeletons dead, you should even be able to dodge all his attacks (aside from the AoE).

That might help in the sense that it will keep them in front of me, though I'm pretty sure if they all attack at once my stamina will be gone. Also if gravelord dance hit I wouldn't be able to flip away from it.

edit: Are you guys saying I should do the whole fight from that alcove?

You could always try killing the skeletons in one place, and then taking nito back to the drop.

Welp.. learn to parry and dodge like crazy. and bs. Pretend the skeletons are a group of gankers, and you need to dodge around in order to survive, then you'll eventually dodge behind one of them, and BAM, bs.

At least they don't have WoG Shrug

I always say "Stamina used to dodge is worth more than stamina used to block." Ok, I don't ALWAYS say that, but I should XD

    How about this:

    http://tinyurl.com/7nn3a66

First step is to take out the skeletons. If they gang up on you, the best thing would be to take advantage of invincibility from critical hits. So, ideally, backstab as much as possible. If you can't get behind them, parry/ riposte. Backstabbing is better because you're instantly invincible, whereas when you parry you're vulnerable until you actually start the riposte. But the extra poise should help you poise-backstab the skeles (tank a hit on your way to their back, then backstab). If this still doesn't work, try switching to a crushing weapon.

Once the skeles are out, the best is to get right up to Nito. If you're right up to him, he actually won't hit you with hit melee attacks. The only thing that will hit you from there is his AoE attack, but it's easy to run away when you see him start it, then run back into melee range again. I switched your spell from fireballs to great combustions for this purpose. You'll be in safe melee range, and the extra amount of casts might allow you to kill him without needing to resort to melee.

Good luck, I hope I helped!

Thanks - I don't have the strong armor listed but I agree about going back to great combustion. So if I stand right in front of him he can't hurt me at all except for the AoE attack?

I also think standing in the alcove and letting the skeletons come to me is a good idea - this way they can't get behind me or surround me.

I think 16 shots doesn't finish him off, but comes close.

I always use a divine Falchion because it swings super fast, uses little stamima, and still hits multiple enemies even though it's a short weapon. Drop down at the beginning and wait for skelliez like BLA1NE said, but Nito will usually do his sword dance shortly after dropping down so just constantly dodge until he does it. Keep blooming moss in one of your slots incase it hits you and you're toxic. Once the 3 small skelliez are down, the fight is super easy. Like they said, get in close and GC, then dip if he does the AoE attack. All of his attacks are telegraphed in a big way, so this shouldn't be a problem.

As a pyro, you should consider becoming a chaos servant. At +2, which costs 30 humanities, you get the Great Chaos Fireball. You only get four casts and it takes two slots, but it does massive damage.

Is it your intent to fight Nito solo? I usually do. :-)

That's how I always do it. Even with my SL1 char. Good tip!

Also fire is lethal for poor Nito. Used fire reinf. club and for the skellies a divine axe or as stated above a falchion.

Are you PSN or XBL dude, I made a thread offering help on SL 1 playthroughs. I am XBL though, so may not be able to help. (even so you would need to give me a bit of time to get down there, been kinda ambling so far)

Killed him easily SL 1 but just waiting in the start area with my divine dagger, riposting the skeletons, then using all my pyromancy on him.

If you keep your distance he rarely gets close to you and you only need to worry about his miasma attack, which can be countered by backing up and putting up the crest shield.

Past that, if there are no other enemies, his melee is really easy to dodge.

Oh god now I'm on 4 Kings sad. I managed to kill the first one tanking using four flasks, but the second one snuck in behind the stupid death animation.

    My build for this part

    http://tinyurl.com/6ouzvzf

Second ring is artorias whatever, which isn't listed. GC is +10 and Crest is +5. Not sure if mask of mother or stone helm is better. Even hilt damage knocks off 100+ HP.

Yeah, but a single mistake is an OHK. And god forbid you can't kill one before the next one spawns. Then you're really ***. AoE is also an OHK, same with the homing missles. Hate that boss, dude.

    Ditch the armor and dodge.

Tanking the hits with only 10 vit is suicide.

Are you sure? As I said I managed to kill the first with four flasks, so it should be possible to beat the rest depending on how often they use the magic attack. At least with this strat you don't die in one hit.
