Forest Hunter Build Idea. It has buffs.

After seeing people use various buffs, and various threads about the use of buffs, I came up with this beast.

Here's the forest hunter strategy for this:

1. Search for the host with the ring fog equipped.
2. Once host is confirmed to be a ganker, run to a safe spot.
3. Do channeler dance and swap out fog ring for ninja flip ring or red tearstone ring.
4. Use buffs.
5. ???
6. Profit


What does the experts think? Any questions, comments, suggestions?

youd have to be very very quick to swap out, the forest is lawless your best off finding them and buffing without teh fog ring on, then going straight for teh host 2 or 3 swings should kill him if they connect

That's the point. Usually, If I'm not running and hiding to annoy them, I only last about less than a minute.

What I'm not sure is the channeler trident and how it works.

i dont think it will buff you i think it buffs allies only im not entirely sure on this tho

Since the trident is too much of an unknown, will this do better? It's much closer to my current build and does't need NG+ yet.

Strategy for this:

1. Start of with no head gear and have fog ring on.
2. Cast power within.
3. Equip dusk crown and switch fog ring with bellowing dragon.
4. Buff weapon.
5. ???
6. Profit


If my guess is right:
dusk crown + bellowing dragon + power within = 80% boost to spells
weapon + great magic weapon + power within = almost double of base weapon

Dusk Crown and Bellowing Dragon don't buff buffs.

It's to buff the pyro spells. I can always switch the bellowing for lingering to extend my buffs.

Unless you're a Forest Moon or Forest Wraith I'd pump INT or FTH up to 50 for max power on your buffs.

I crunch some numbers on my current pyro if I go for buffs.

At SL100
15 int, Oolacile catalyst(180 mag), great magic weapon(x1.1) + 45 dex, iaito(413), power within(40%):
198 magic + 578 normal = 776

At SL110
25 int, Oolacile catalyst(180 mag), CMW(x1.4) + 45 dex, iaito(413), PW(40%):
252 magic + 578 normal = 830

At SL120
35 int, Tin crystal catalyst(261 mag), CMW(x1.4) + 45 dex, iaito(413), PW(40%):
352 magic + 578 normal = 930

35 int, sorcerer catalyst(205 mag), CMW(x1.4) + 45 dex, iaito(413), PW(40%):
287 magic + 576 normal = 863

The gap between 15 int and 25 int is 54.
The gap between 25 int and 35 int is 100.


I'd go with tin crystal catalyst but I'm not sure how it will affect my pyro spells. If I stop holding it, will my spell count go back to normal?

Just posting as someone that didnt read the thread but...
One thing you can do to mess with the gankers. IF the tress are alive. Run to a group of them and do the trident dance. It will practically make them do twice the damage normally.

This may not be entirely feasible tho(it takes ~20 seconds to do the dance and only lasts around a minute) but could prove to be an asset if used right.

That increase is incorrect. It actually multiplies, not adds.
dusk crown * bellowing dragon * power within = 60% boost.
Just a little tidbit on how effects stack in dark souls..

Okay this is all hypothetical, Im sorry but you want to be spawning with a workable gear setup. and then buffing if you can. most matches once you have seen the host you have time for 2 buffs at best if you are at a distance,
I use green blossom + SLB and half the time I dont have time to use them both. it is a very rare situation you will get that kind of time, dont rely on it.

Wow, you brought this back up again. Anyways, I can start with the dusk crown on. The reason I don't want to put it on at first is because I thought it would speed up Power Within. Still, swapping the fog ring for bellowing is still good.

I could just drop the magic weapon buff. It's just not worth the stats.
