    Note about player ghosts

    You know the player ghosts that you see a lot of the time? At first i thought they were real time, showing what players were doing.
    But while i was invading at PW i noticed that i saw the ghosts of players i had defeated. Especially at the bonfire, where you can see their gear you know it was them. It is very rewarding when you see a player you just parried as a ghost, showing the parry again.
    So the ghosts are what players have been doing.

    I see ghosts of phantoms that I summoned, even when they are still there. Sometimes I see the ghost inside them, when they are standing idol for some reason.

    I played side by side with my friend, and as we were waiting for each others' summons, we'd see our Ghosts, and it was a few minutes behind.

    Sometimes it’s ~10 seconds, other times it can be up to 3 minutes.

    Hmm. Well, since it only shows a phantom for a short while, we couldn't really test it out. Nor did we really care hahahaha! It probably just kind of tries to find some other players, and then kinda sends out their ghost as the game pleases.

    It can be real time or almost real time. I was cooping with my brother once, and we got invaded right at the bonfire in the Depths. The invader killed me, and I returned to my world at the same bonfire in time to see him still fighting the invader in his world (I could tell it was him because the ghost kept getting close enough to the bonfire that it would turn into a realistic ghost and show all his equip). I saw him get killed that way, and maybe 15 seconds later got a PM from him that he'd died. So what I saw was nearly contemporaneous.

    LOL I just rememberd I had a guy invade me and I couldnt find him since he used the spell that turns you into nearby objects and then I saw a ghost right in the middle of a small tree which totally gave him away.

    When I've been dueling and waiting for my opponent to place their sign I've seen their ghost run up, place the summon sign then had the sign appear 15 to 30 seconds later.

    Also on more then one occasion I've gestured back and forth with ghosts.

    So sometimes its instant, or nearly, and sometimes its delayed. I'm sure the delay is built in to allow you to see ghosts of those who've gone before incase there is no one there at the exact second.

    But... Ive had ghosts wave at me...

    I guess that could be within the 15 sec mark

    My experience says it varies. If you're in a lower populated area I'd expect many ghosts to be delayed more, can't show you someone instantly if there isn't anyone there. However in high traffic areas they are as close to instant as network allows.
