The "Ultimate" Havel build? Empty The "Ultimate" Havel build?

Post by BindMind Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:42 pm

Functional in PvP, PvE, and as a cosplay for Havel.

Could this be the ultimate Havel build? What do you think?

    http://goo.gl/Ekn47

    This
build has everything Havel has, with the addition of ranged and a
dagger as a backup. The build is kept at SL 120 for optimum PvP, is only
50 HP under the cap for diminishing returns, has 20 dexterity for the
badass dragon slayer bow, and has enough endurance to equip it all.

    Thoughts?

EDIT: This build is more PvP/PvE oriented than 100% true cosplay. If you're interested in a true cosplay build, you can take a glance at SunshineCrusader's Build:

Pretty cool. But does Havel use a Bandit's Knife? silly

+1 for your excellent work in the Off-Topic section, though. Hurrah

Here is my Havel build for the Noble Knights:

    http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=4259855747043743

It has problems but it's fun. I believe a Havel cosplay needs faith because he is Bishop Havel the Rock and even created a couple miracles.

I figured that most knights have a backup weapon, and daggers are usually just that.

And I chose bandit's knife because... Well... Bleeding damage XD

As for miracles, Havel never actually performs any miracles in-game, so I dunno. my excuse is just because he created it, doesn't necessarily mean he uses it winking

Faith makes sense though... But then this wouldn't be functional as an SL 120 build.

PS: I saw you accusing me of not putting this in the PvP section >=3

EDIT: Also, Havel with 35 vit just seems too squishy for him, don't you think?

Both are great builds, though I find Sunlight's is more faithful to the NPC. Having the DS bow in your back pocket is real bad-***, though.

True, but I wasn't necessarily aiming for 100% cosplay accuracy, but PvP functionality as well.

And yeah, Dragon Slayer bow is f***ing badass.

Well thats why I posted mine; his is more viable but I find mine is more of a real cosplay. I just don't think Havel should use anything dex based; he is all might. Regardless I like the effort at making a viable Havel pvp build.

Yes I know you saw it but for some reason I thought I clicked on some other section. Sorry about that I'm a bit tired.

Edit: I'm dosing myself with coffee now so if it happens again I have no excuse.

See my build. Like I said more of a real cosplay but not nearly as pvp viable as Bind's build.

I like your build. Note, the DS bow is cool but useless in PvP. You'll never hit a thing with it. Though you said PvE and PvP so it won't be useless to you. If Havel was going to have a backup weapon I'd think Shortsword, just seems more appropriate to me.

However if I was gonna do this I would do Havel with medium roll.

The Vit is plenty, with that massive and incredibly effective shield you should be fine. Havel in the game doesn't have super high HP anyways. He just has an incredible shield and the ability to one shot you.

I really like that build actually. Too bad you have to put so many points into END XD

I agree that the DS bow is useless in dueling, but invading is a totally different story. I can't tell you how much fun it is to knock nooblets off cliffs silly And I don't have to mention its use in PvE.

Yeah lots of Vit but its okay. Medium rolling Havel is epic. I suggest you do it! If a backup weapon is necessary just drop another couple Vit, I promise you'll never notice when you're standing behind that shield.

That's true, but with higher vit and ignoring medium roll speeds, you get a HUGE bonus to attack at 360 health, which could save your life.

The thing is, as you say, behind that shield you won't have to worry silly

Yeah but with that dragon tooth fat rolling will make it harder to close in and hit. Plus med roll you'll dodge at least one attack that would have hit you fat rolling so that makes up the difference in HP right there! big grin

federally, i may be saying this late but the ds bow actually can be devastating in pvp as evidenced by:

other than that i guess i don't have much to say...
