I almost never see people use the Demon's Great Machete, at least in my PvP experience, why is that?

maybe cause you havent run into me? i have been using it it since week two(i used the bkga before that i know but it was when it was cool). people do not like the hight learning curve of str weapons which is why they dont use them on pvp and go with the easiest ones to use like rapiers and kats.

I would say the community doesn't favor it because it's slow and, as a result, hard to people with.

slower, it's same class as BKGS, but heavier and therefore slower.

Also I've seen a few people use it, but usually only forum members, we know what the general public like using..

I was, I'm trying out a weird sort of strength build. Was deciding between that and the Man Serpent Greatsword, mainly.

Wanted to try using other stuff, like Toxic Mist and thinking of what other weird things I could fit in.

MSGS is a lot more popular for obvious reasons, easier to use, lower statistical requirements, greatsword as opposed to ultra-greatsword, etc...

But, honestly, you shouldn't let anything we say about the DGM deter you from giving it a try. Rant swears by it, and he is one of the most respected members of the community.

Considering the fact everyone who fights you outside FC will only fish for backstabs the entire battle, is not dificult to play with. Also, unbuffed with 40 STR, all you need is 2 or 3 hits to kill anyone. Definitely fun, and I would try it out if I were you.

try all the weapons that scale well with str and see which one you like and are ggood with, the msgs is the easiest one to use and really good for dead angling. i love the bkgs and it is just as slow(fast?) as the DGM but the DGM hits harder(i use a crystal DGM+5)

i dont use it all the time, my leeroy toon has 50str, with a crystal+5 DGM riposte does about 1500 damage on a light/med armor mix, no hornet and no buff, imagine if ive had the hornet ring with dmb+3.

Larger stat investment for damage comparable to a elemental zweihander, but slightly shorter withless dead angleing ability. Its great, but against a decent player, you really have to know what you're doing. Like the great axe in ds, its an "oops you're dead" weapon. Can go from losing terribly to having won in half a second because they made 1 mistake.

I've seen it twice outside FC. They weren't good.

I only could parry Gwyn once on my Str Tank build, out of 30 deaths or something. Hornet's ring, Power within, 58 str, and Demon's Greataxe +15 does over half his health. Like, 3/4. I didn't see the #, because I was so extremely excited that I got the parry. I missed the second.

I ended up tanking him like a boss.

I need to try DGM... I'm quite fond of the DGA, though.

it's actually really hard to not get bs'd with a heavy weapon since most poeplp will just roll bs and do nothing else as soon as they see you with a heavy weapons, specially in the burg since that's pretty much the only thing people do there, not just against heavy weapons. the thing i do is play like a usually do which is neign carefull and give them the benefit of the doubt that they're not just gonna take the cheap way out but once i get bs'd once i either bs them back to ohko them or every time i do my roll r1 attack i keepp my back to a wall which instead of they getting a roll bs they get a DGM to the face or wog if theyre parry spamming.

I like it for 1v1, but I'm quickly finding out it can't match up against gankers; it's just too slow.
I am a fan, but it has serious shortcomings; I think it's shorter than the Zwei and the GS, and it might even swing slower too. Also, it's R2's are utter crap; they can knock down, but have less range and damage than the jump attack with similar animations, so why bother?

It DA's like a boss, like the other UGS's, and gets great damage as both an elemental and a +15. It's also intimidating, especially with charcoal resin, but pure AR isn't the key in PvP. It certainly does more damage than anything I have without CMW, DMB, or SLB, but that's much less important than a versatile moveset in PvP. I've won a decent ratio of AL invasions at SL 120 with it, mostly because the rolling R1 is a great poke and it breaks poise. It's a predictable weapon, but I'd give it a shot if I were you.

I have no problem with gankers. Fight lock off and swivel when you swing, bs a lot. it 1 shots nearly everyone if you swap to hornets for the gank. You just have to know when to fight like a guard tower and hardly move, and when to bs everybody like a ninja.
