    Hacker time Empty Hacker time

Post by Eolan Wed May 30, 2012 8:46 am

So im curios as to what general age hackers are? I'm not talking BB guys, im talking infinate health dudes etc.

When i was about 9 or 10 i cheat coded games because it was the most fun. I would buy a magazine with a free a-z of cheats and for some reason the ones with the most cheats appealed to me more, to the point where i might buy a game because it had interesting cheat codes.

I think i felt like it was empowering or getting more fun out of the game than intended? Im talking weapon cheats, infinate ammo, etc but also games like Tenchu on the psone had a "debug" menu cheat that allowed you to amongst other things play two players! You could also spawn spells/ enemies and all sorts of fun stuff that the game made no effort to present to the player...

When i got a bit older i sought challenge over fun, i remember playing san andreas and never using cheats which really pulled in allot of challenge, which led to infinitely more fun. Resource management is a huge component for me now. I cant play games if they hold my hand, but when i was younger i didn't have that need, nor the wherewithal to know i was shortening the games impact. All i could see was how cool an ak was in gta3 and i wanted one NOW.

    tldr

So what im wondering is whether these hackers are just 9 or 10 old kids who haven't learned to personally challenge themselves or are they dysfunctional adults? Or are they casual computer whizzes whizzing on this delicate game for kicks? Have you guys ever hacked a game and why or why not?

I dont know this game can get pretty frustrating... I often feel the urge to go WoG crazy or something *insert a quote about the temptations of the dark side from star wars*

i think its just people that dont like to lose, age doesnt really make a difference. i never got why people like having infinite health or ammo in a game, what is the point if you can die? might as well play barbie adventures.

Anyone cheating in any game really ruins the game for themselves. I did that in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. I can't play it without cheats. Though, I found every glitch spot in the game haha! These guys are just ruining the game for themselves, taking Dark Souls and making it something more like Bulletstorm on easy. No challenge, lots of smashing. Except, without the amazing graphics, which would be the only reason I'd play bulletstorm haha!
Anyway, my point is that these guys just can't play the game any way else.

Thats kind of my point. Anyone savvy enough to hack a game must have some kind of gaming ability surely? Or its google searching casuals? Me dont think so. I am thinking its young' uns with mad computer skills for their age.

I think that while kids will do it yeah, a lot of people who just think "*** it, i just want to kill people and make them hate on me FUR TEH LULZ" are the ones who do it. I think anyone at any age is a potential hacker, even if they google search it or download something.

You could probably download gamefiles for xbox that have hacked characters in.. wouldn't surprise me :|

Yeah its a shame but its sort of inevitable. what could from do to improve the situation? I generally thought hacking a 360 was quite difficult and generally risky.

When I think of hackers I think of the guy from the south park WoW episode. "How do you kill that which has no life?" So yea I think they are looser adults.

I've run into exactly one hacker, Forest PVP, me and a Darkwraith beat the living hell out of the guy and he didn't even have a healthbar over his head, infinite health, after I called him out on it he fed me some ******** like, "Oh you just couldn't see my healthbar, I was taking damage, you just suck at the game."

I wish there was a weapon that inflicted curse damage, that way not even the hackers would be safe.

hackers are subject to bleeding, using lifehunte weapons will kill hackers.
since they are terrible at the game just fish BS untill they bleed to death
if they try to heal BS again.
    simple process.

No its not always the case. Allot hackers have built up massive resistance to bleeding. The only real way is to boot them off the edge of a cliff sadly.

Yeah but as i said the likely hood is you'll just be beating a wall up for 5 mins till u make a mistake. They are a scourge. Thankfully xbox banhammers so easily so I'm sure they must be short lived.

Wheres that youtube vid where the guys trying to knock the hacker off the catacombs walkway? Its like 30 mins long or something...

yes. that's true. but even if they have 99 endurance life hunt will eventually bleed them out and what else are you gonna do if your not near a cliff? dont go out without a fight show the hacker they are vulnerable.

You will lose probably. ive had super long fights with people in anor londo that have just ended up with me giving up. They can swing repeatedly without stopping for 5 mins if they want! You can be the best player in the world but they'll win eventually.

Bleeding does so much, but they can heal infinately without worrying about being hurt as almost everything does nothing to them. Tbh the last guy i encountered i backstabbed him about 10 times (i generally hit for around 2000 on bs with a bit of trickery, but this came up as a miss everytime 0 dmg dealt) tbh it looked like he was playing with one hand while eating or something... Kept stopping to turn etc. Odd pauses in his play. kept shrugging after backstabs and taking another one seemingly to take the piss outta me.

I tried bleeding him with my prissy dagger, it didnt work maybe because i couldnt build it up, but its just not gonna happen before i make a mistake. Just report them and if you can record the fight and get them banned.

By all means if someone has a video of themselves using bleed on a hacker im keen to see it.
