enchanted ember with velka's rapier

hey guys i've been playing dark souls for a while now.

i specialize in INT and so i thought about making an INT based weapon.
i've got velka's rapier and upgraded it to +5. now i wanted to use the enchanted ember at the blacksmith in new londo ruins, but the option doesn't appear in the weapon ascension slot (not sure if it's called that, i'm playing the german version).

so my question is: is it possible to use the enchanted ember on velka's rapier?

ps: i fear i already know the answer, but it can't hurt to ask:)

No it is not sadly. velka's rapier is a unique weapon and as such only goes to +5. easy way to check is if they use twinkling titanite dragon scales or demon titanite they will only go to +5

No, and there's no need. It already scales primarily on int.

but then i have another question: can't i use any ember on a unique weapon? for example, can't i use the large magic ember on velka's rapier?

You cant use embers on any unique weapon. They get to +5 and stop.
