    Going back to pre-patch.

Post by Wade_Wilson on Tue May 29, 2012 9:22 am

How do I go back to version 1.00? I'm just interested in seeing how it compares to the game as of now, as I can barely remember how it played and felt. Would deleting all my dark souls saved data work?

You don't have to delete your saved data, you have to delete the game utility data, there's two different sections, you'll get what i mean once you fire up the PS3 to do it

So... I can still keep my 1.5 data then? Or would deleting the GDU still delete everything?

But wouldn't deleting your game utility data mess with your save files? From what I know they would be useless since they belong to a latter version of the game.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The games a lot harder, trust me. Almost nothing they did made the game easier.

So in that case I should make a back-up of all my saved data? Not that I'd be losing anything important.

Actually, out of all the things I have, the one thing I don't want to lose is my +10 Fire Halberd that I made on my very first playthrough... now it's on every toon. Even to this day, I have a link to my first playthrough...

I would suggest that you do that... Yes.
You never know what can go wrong in this situations. So go save with your backed up files.

Yeah sounds like a good idea, though when patch 1.05 came in, didn't mess up my save files presumed would work the other way too silly

It just becomes harder Wade, it's the little things, honestly winking

Your current saves won't work on an older version, though they shouldn't be damaged by deleting the patch. You would just need to reinstall the patch to play them again. Backing up won't hurt but it shouldn't be necessary.

trasfer your save data to Flash drive or cloud save then delete patches.

If you dont the game wont let you progess past the start screen because your save versions dont match your game version.

And once you start over its a complete start over your other saves need to be kept off the main Hdd because their version 1.05. Meaning you cant BB from save 1.05 to new game 1.00.

Is it possible to boot to different Hdd at the start of a game. or to connect an extra Hdd. if so then you could use in a similar fashion as flash drive

You're wrong. You can hook up Usb storage device and transfer them, or save them to the PSN+ cloud.

I am on Xbox, and it will not let me transfer a save file from my hard drive to either a USB drive OR to Cloud. I can select my USB when I start up my game and create a NEW character, but it will forever be stuck on that drive. From what I have heard it's the same on PS3.

If you go into system and find save data and click on Dk souls it will give you the option to trasfer it to a flash drive if its pluged up to your system.

and If you are still having problems then you need to contact Xbox suppport to help you.

I have an xbox and I transfer save data all the time.

I've tried this a while back. Dark Souls saved data is not able to be copied on PS3. (When you try to copy it, it doesn't allow you to do so.)

The only way from what I know is to have PS Plus and keep the data you don't want deleted there.

Im sure there is another way but thats from what I know.

Well, upon booting up dark souls I remembered that I had deleted all my characters anyway... Currently playing pre-patch now with a new guy. Got a BK shield already.

If you do the DH glitch you should be able to get enough souls to get to lvl 245 in about 4 hours.

P.s I think you can also buff the stone giants sword with crystal magic on 1.00
