What are your affections for TWoP?
I've taken notice how "unfairL TWoP is, but is it really? All it does is immobilize you for 10 seconds, and is easily countered by either parrying or blocking. I was going to use it with Sunlight Spears for those non-stop flippers because damn they are so annoying.

Honestly at one point i used to strongly dislike Tranquil Walk of Peace, but now it's just another obstacle that i must overcome to defeat my foes. If they think that by using it will help them win then let them. All they are trying to do is to get some fun out of it. I still don't approve of them doing it though but i am not going to send them hatemail for using it nor am i going to care all that much when they do. Just my point of view on it.

Well one on one I consider it a perfectly legitimate and fun excuse to practise my parrying.
the only problem I come across with it is when there are two opponents and one TWoP's while the other goes in for the backstab impossible to roll out of danger and My build is not made for tanking.

id rather the caster couldnt critical hit during its duration. what with it being essentially a way to get free backstabs on an enemy if cast within close quarters. would be nice if it were a way to force both players into a slugfest.

Scrub miracle. To be honest I have no idea what FROM were thinking when they made 75% of the items in the game in accordance to balance of PvP.

They weren't thinking of PvP. This game was supposed to primarily be a PvE game, with invaders being another obstacle to overcome.Mustaklaki wrote:Scrub miracle. To be honest I have no idea what FROM were thinking when they made 75% of the items in the game in accordance to balance of PvP.

The phrase we use for something like that is "Sit down"
In my opinion, it's a pretty horrible miracle. 10 seconds in PvP is a long time... Fights can last for even less time and this is one way of doing it. Sadly even if you can avoid the first BS attempt, another will come and get you..
To me, the situation you get put in from it is similar to wake up WoG, or spawn point spamming, it just puts you at an extremely large and immediate disadvantage without requiring a great amount of skill, luck or anything really to get it.

This is a bit off-topic, but Serious, is it just me, or did your grammar improve a lot? (Not trying to be offensive.)
OT: It was 10 seconds? I thought it was 5 seconds for some reason. No wonder why it seemed so long...

My grammar is ALWAYS PERFECT!!!!
Nah genuinely my grammar is awful, it really just changes all the time as I feel like it. Maybe it's better now than in other posts, but it's mere coincidence I assure you

What everyone seems to forget is, I'm not using it for backstabs, I'll be using it to hit them with my spells

Re: What are your affections for TWoP?
I love TwoP. I beg you to use it because it requires you to get close to me, so please please make the stupid mistake of standing next to me for 10 seconds, I need your souls and humanity!
Now I do understand where TwoP can be obnoxious and unfair. TwoP plus WotG spam is a nearly undefeatable tactic with no real downside and the rainbow brigade gank squads love camping spawns with TwoP on and testing your poise with 4 Greatswords. Really this is an issue with FROM failing to properly balance the game though and I'm not big on hating people for it.

I have no issues with it - I just say "Oh come at my Crystal Magic Buffed Murakumo (with 99 int and TCC so +500ish damage) You will just get dead angled and die to me - once they get hit once after they are using it they run away scared xD Teaches forest gankers a lesson.

Re: What are your affections for TWoP?
I actually like using TWoP, but generally in self defence...
I'm frequently being invaded by obnoxiously flipping acrobatic lagstabbers and turning their mobility off is a great risk to take, but one can reap a lot from it if used correctly.
I also used a lot in my forest covenant time and it helped a lot when going 2v1 (me being the 1). It's just annoying to get craptalk from another guy who calls this spell "unfair and without honour" when he himself kept running away into enemies in order to either get a free backstab, an easier kill or to make me wait while he buffed himself....

Re: What are your affections for TWoP?
I used TWOP only a few times, after reading several posts in this wiki however I do plan to make it a part of my arsenal in the future when I decide to turn on this game again.
People will complain over anything that doesn't fit their needs on this game. So it's no surprise not many dislike it.

Re: What are your affections for TWoP?
The miracle sounds appropriate for those who go against more than one enemy, for that 'Crowd Control'. Although, most of the miracles, including the force and gravelord dances, seem to be positioned for such crowd control. Sorcery seems more direct, even if the Spears/Breath go threw multiple enemies (that are lined up, that is). Pyromancy seems to have a similar stance in Crowd Control as well, although it is more offensive that Miracles.

The crowd control effect isn't... well, too effective in pvp. 10 seconds go extremelly fast and can be spent just trying to catch someone. And sometimes, even if a person is already inside your range, they won't be afffected until a couple of precious seconds later. To me, twop is more like a disabler of fast fighters, yet it requires excellent timing and some luck.

Re: What are your affections for TWoP?
that is why people find the same solution as that of magic shields: Lingering Dragon Crest.
And besides... 10 seconds can mean the different in the times of war. A fight can be very long... or very, very short. Depends on the face off and the tactics used for each side... no matter how many sides there are.

Re: What are your affections for TWoP?
If I am using a build with attunement slots, (probably 90% of my toons have at least one), I will usually have Fire Tempest equipped. People that use TWoP cast it, and run right at you....I can't tell you how many of them have been fried to a crisp as a result.
