That's a very good question. I suppose having so much to lose gives an extra 'edge' to the game, not that it needs it.

when I pass 5 million souls I stop everything I'm doing and run to the crestfallen merchant, then I go to the giant blacksmith. So I go back to my PVP spot with a heavy inventory

Good idea. When you have a finished PvP toon, you really don't need many souls anyway. Just enough to purchase consumables. But, the soft humanity loss is frustrating, especially if you have chaos weapons.
