    Puzzle boss that is highly advanced, meaning it has multiple ways of being fought many times over, or a mimic boss like OoT.

    Also I'm in a lurking mood, I feel bad I could have helped someone with the catacombs but I really didn't feel like getting on sad

    Really fun game. The series actually was a spinoff of FF before it became it's own thing :o

    Rabbi I miss yous!... Think I'll play that later, Wii has it for a decent price I think, can't recall.

    hey! I think the PS2 Final fantasies were good in general, nothing like the embarrassment of XIII and it's sequel or the horror of XIV..

    but nope, never played it.

    Damn. I guess I missed the boss idea discussion.As for the band name. That is indeed pretty large O_o. I haven't seen anything remotely close to that myself. lol

    And here's my idea for a boss. An armored drake, (imagine it looking like a slender dragon with shining armor) and upon it's back is saddled a knight with a lance and shield. The battle would take place upon the top of a mountain of some sort with short but thick bridges leading to different platforms up at the top. The boss could fly around, breath fire, poke you with the lance if you're close enough and if you're one of the platforms it could land for head on head combat. I apologize if the idea isn't very well detailed, but it just kinda popped into my head as I read the last couple pages.

    I'd encourage this conversation to keep going, I'd like to see some more innovation in bosses next game since a few are very similar to the bosses on demon's souls..

    seems to be a theme coming up here... A lot of us are asking for boss arenas where its not just a big room.. I agree having more than just a one on one at the end of the level in a big room i think there should be more innovation in the boss room design, or the way the boss is introduced and interacts with the level prior to confrontation.

    I mean the only boss which has a slightly 'different' arena is the iron golem.. which really is the only thing that made the fight hard..

    Here is a nightmare boss, a level where it is made of elevators and bottomless pits. Bring back the horror that was the elevator in the first part of stonefang tunnel big grin.

    Thing is that elevator wasn't even bad for me.. I can't even remember how it could be considered bad, lol silly

    All about the timing of getting on it on the downside, if you timed it wrong then you would lip off the edge of it and fall to your doom. Happens a lot, especially if your not paying attention (kind of like me on a lot of occasions.....)

    I wouldn't mind a giant cave-like area that had a bunch of thin, web-like bridges that connected and branched throughout the whole room. Throw in a giant snake that weaved around them as the boss and you have one hell of a scary fight.

    Hmm, let's see, what about a tiny boss. Most bosses are really big, so having a regular sized creature or a small creature that was really good at moving around could be kind of interesting.

    How about a basilisk (giant version) where it could you to stone by staring at you could turn you to stone (fill up the curse meter). To avoid this, you would need to either hide behind objects or turn away from it's sight to allow the curse meter to drop, hitting its eyes could also close them temporarily, allowing for the movement between cover locations. Note that you could also replace a basilisk with a medusa/gorgon.

    Oooo, like maybe some sort of Succubus. Using both melee weaponry and magic she would fly around AND move like a human could on the ground making her tough, especially if she was given certain abilities outside the norm. (For example, not shooting Soul Arrows like a mage could. She would have her own unique spellset and weapon)

    Or a ninja like character (yes I know, totally out of place setting wise) since it could use both a flurry of close ranged attacks and ranged throwing attacks in a fluid motion. Combine with the ability to flip around and hop between platforms darkroot grain ring style, and it would be a challenging foe.
