I don't think it really matters, it's just a generally powerful sword if you have the right character tendency...
But yeah false king allant has high magic resistance, it would never be good against him

Soulbrandt is good for killing npcs/hosts, since killing them makes your character tendency black, which increases its damage. With a pure white character tendency it does no damage whatsoever.
Demonbrandt is good for killing demons (and invaders, since killing them makes your character tendency white, which increases its damage). This weapon also has a hidden bonus against bosses (+20%?). This is probably the weapon ostrava was talking about, but if your character tendency is pure black it will do no damage.
The Northern Regalia is at full damage at both pure white and pure black character tendency, which reflects the properties of both the swords it's made from.
