    The Yogscast!

Post by Quarik on Tue May 22, 2012 5:54 am

I've been watching the Magicka playthrough and I felt a sudden need to discuss them.

They did videos on said playthrough up to chapter 11, stopped, and "finished" the game during a Christmas livestream. Are there VoDs for them finishing anywhere? I know they did the "Magickal Christmas" vid, but that didn't cover them fighting Grimnir. Also, what's your favorite part of what they do? Mine are their collabs and the Yogpod.

I AM DAVE ! YOGNAUT AND I HAVE THE BALLS!

I'm pretty sure if you go to their Livestream channel you can go through their records to that date, and find the recording of that stream unless they didn't have that mode set.

They've got 11 vids, but only 2 are visible, and neither of them Magicka. *cry*

Which is your favorite member? Lewis by far for me, but Sips is pretty great too.

Sips is my favourite, definitely. He's just so soothing to listen to, plus I just love his humor. Though I've got to say probably my favorite joke comes from Louis during the DnD Podcast. "What do you mean Slant Eyed?"-Hannah, "I just point at her face."-Louis.

Sips and his campfires were great... Apart from those I think my favorite parts of the DnD are the weird Irish-Welsh-Scottish merchant, Simon listing the things going by on a conveyor belt in the background: "A set of steak knives. A cuddly toy." etc, Brick kicking Bubbles off of the lift, and Lewis' strange attachment to Barry.

Are we really the only Yognau(gh)ts on the forums?

Indeed we are the few, the proud, the Yognauts. I can't imagine they would appeal to the people who are attracted to Dark Souls really, as they mostly play very casual games. They tried Dark Souls but couldn't get past the Taurus Demon if I remember correctly.

'Twas Hannah. She's a bit of a nub though. Also, we are not proud by any stretch of the imagination.

Yeah I hide my love for them usually haha, but I like to leave little remarks to see if I can draw out any Yognauts when I can such as I did when you first realized I was a fan. Who knows, maybe they just haven't seen this thread and there are others.

I've done that a few times, and no one has ever responded, but oh well. Most Nauts are probably a bit shy, while I'd go naked in public if I wouldn't get arrested. I'd also go down street dressed as a giant worm.

I looked at the title of this tread, and the first thing that popped into my mind was "The Yogscast! *Violin music themesong plays."

Nordrassil Radio Interview (uncut, long!). The bit in the middle where they all just lose it and nearly die laughing makes me do the same.

So many of them are great, my only one I don't have on my Ipod though is The Last Watch. I just wasn't really a fan of that.

It was ok as a story, but as a Yogpod it was sadly lacking. The Christian Nairn interview is great now that I've read some of ASoIaF.

"I've been usurped by a silly voice." Yeah that was quite a fun one, I wish they would actually do some more interview podcasts.

They're "brilliant" on their own, but the thing is that other people make it even better.

Well see they are mostly reactionary, so it's better when they are reacting to something. It's when they are at their peak in my opinion. Simon and Louis, very funny. Simon and Louis reacting to other people, Hilarious.

Magicka was so perfect for that. ARSE mines, instagibbing, grenades... it's just a recipe for hilarity.

Yeah that is definitely one of their best Series of videos.

By the way, do you still watch Shadows of Israphel? I really can't anymore, they've got their moments but I feel like it's gone on a bit too long. I don't blame them though, they're probably just trying to make some of their more unreasonable fans pleased.

I know what you mean. I watch it, but I enjoy other things a lot more. It's run its course, I want them to go back to being terrible at games now.

Incidentally, what did you think of the whole Peva/Tinman/Ridgedog fiasco?
