So, I am making a 40/40 dex/str build, and I have decided that I want to use a Halberd of some sort. I have narrowed my choices down to either the Lucerne or the Scythe. Witch one would you guys recommend? They have almost identical AR, so it really comes down to the movesets. Thoughts?

Re: Scythe, or Lucerne?
I prefer the Scythe's moveset. Also the damage types are different. Lucerne deals thrust while the Scythe has slash. I wonder if the Lucerne works in tandem with the Leo's ring

So far it is Scythe 2, Lucerne 0. Who will win this most exciting contest?!

Ditch both and take the Gargoyle Halberd or the Great Scythe!

Re: Scythe, or Lucerne?
I would, but the Gargoyle Halberd puts me over 25% weight, and the Great Scythe does much less damage than either weapons. At the moment, I'm leaning towards the Scythe.

Personally, i've been playing around with the Lucerne and really been enjoying it! You need to get used to the way it plays but it is a very enjoyable weapon to use

Re: Scythe, or Lucerne?
I love the Scythe and its moveset, both 1H and 2H R2s are freakin awesome. The R1, R1 combo is great too, the first overhead slam makes them dodge and the follow up wide angled sweep usually lands. Add in a wide angled rolling attack and a punishing plunge and you've got a well rounded moveset great against 1 opponent or when out numbered.

Re: Scythe, or Lucerne?
what about the regular halberd or is it too heavy? if so go with the lucerne as thrust damage is more effective against heavy armor and slash is better against light armor (so lucy for mask tanks and scythy for ninja's and robed mages)

Re: Scythe, or Lucerne?
Lucrene has beastly R1 attacks. I though the weapon was worthless at first because the R1 is slow and short ranged compared to other pole weapons, but unlike them it's actually really good at dead angles. It'll also do more damage since mostly everyone has higher slash defense.

normal scythe is great with dex builds especially if you want something to stunlock.

Re: Scythe, or Lucerne?
Okay, after some deep thoughts, I decided to go with the Scythe. Let me just say that I am absolutely loving it! It looks awesome, hits pretty hard, has beastly range, and dead angles rather well. Thank you all!
