    I see people everywhere using Sorcery/pyro or Miracles/pyro or even one guy tonight who wants to do all three..

    Why do you guys do it? I personally find you only need 1 magic type if you acquire all the good spells for it and having more than one just seems to me to be a bit.. well overkill i suppose.

    What are everyone's thoughts on the matter?

    Edit: Just to put in my views to be clear, i don't have anything against people using more than one on each character, I just personally limit myself because i prefer to specialise my characters and i don't like idea of being efficient in more than one type, and i think it is enough with only one

    Each magic type has its own "specialty" so combining them could give the best of multiple worlds.

    Combinations like Pyro/Sorcery or Miracles/Pyro are not really ridiculous (which I'm not saying you are implying). Pyromancy does not require stats to use that's why anyone can use them for any build.

    Now combining Sorcery and Miracles or even all 3 of them to me IS overkill. But that's just for a personal standpoint. (mainly because of the current community cap)

    Personally though, I only see a few pvp-usable spells from all 3 magic trees. I use the pyro/miracles combo for this very reason especially for the build I'm creating.

    So, in that case einyaki, would you find in PvE that using more than one is overkill? or is that acceptable too?

    I get the whole thing about only a few usable spells, but i think though that each have enough on their own for PvP (sorcery has 5 off top of my head i could name for random invasions as well as duels)

    Think of having Great Combustion, WoG, Crystal Soul Spear, HCSM, Chaos Fireball, and White Dragon Breath all at your disposal. Sure, your character may not stand a chance at melee combat but you're a ranged offensive power house.

    @Serious

    It's all about preference but to me i don't see a point to it. We can only have 10 slots in our attunement (Don't know id it can go to 11 with the ring but it doesn't matter)

    @Jon

    Again it's all about preference. Base on what you said that build would require team play otherwise you and the host would just be dancing around.


    Sorry if I may sound like a know-it-all. These are just opinions that I got from the time I;ve spent with the game so far.

    and i personally don't see the point in 10 attunement slots. most i've ever had is 6, beyond that it's just a waste of SL to me :|

    @Serious

    I already answered you lol. But let me explain my standpoint further.

    (PVE)We can have 10 slots. Now upon choosing which magic to use would you go for the powerful ones with limited uses and in some cases multiple slot usage? OR would you go for the weaker to slightly strong ones with multiple use and 1 slot usage? We're talking about what you would bring during a run where you will have to fight a number of enemies before reaching a bonfire and in some cases straight to the boss without access to a bonfire. It's all about practicality.

    EDIT: I personally would prefer a lower slot count. I only use my magic for support and for tactical reasons. I for one will not go full 10. 8 is enough for me.

    @einyaki: I just try and encourage people to try outrageous builds. I'm kinda sick of the basic 5, Str, dex, vit, int and fth, and the hybrid builds. I want to see more pure casters using all kinds of magic and crazy hybrid builds that dont just rely on bs or stunlock or bleed.

    I only use all three on my Artorias build, which makes sense. And my mage, I use pyro in Duke's. Just that

    Don't get me wrong bro. I would encourage that as well. If someone wants to do it go for it. Nothing's wrong with being orginal and I am also curious to see someone do that.

    The main question in this thread I think is if it is practical.

    einyaki, okay fair enough, like you i only really use magic as my fighting against bosses mainly, and outside of that is up close and personal. though i go for the powerful ones silly

    anyone else use it? why?

    With the proper skill, sl and stat arrangement I think it could be.


    Using a build like this, with a weapon at +15 and cmw/dmb/slb as a backup if you're out of castings could do some damage in pvp.

    As much as I would LOVE to use those spells PvE or otherwise, they just take too long to cast for me which leaves me vulnerable. I use them sometimes to show off or intimidate lol.

    Veriety pretty much

    specially at high lvl pvp where pretty much everyone has more than 3 attunement slots

    i for one mix and match sorceries with miracles to see what works best with me

    10 spell slots are useful for Faith builds in my opinion because you can easily stack buffs and offensive miracles like, heal, great heal, emit force, replenishment and WoG. But for sorceries? What you gonna stack? Souls Spears? That's ok, what else? Soul Arrows? In my opinion only Great Soul Arrow is worth something in PvP and 20 casts should be enough, and in PvE I think that miracles are better.

    This is my short opinion: Miracles are better for PvE because of the buffs they provide, that's why, for PvE, multiple spells slots for a Faith build, works very well.
