Invaders helping host

Been seeing a huge increase in this. Dont know why, i dont see the point in it.

Run into some worlds recently and see the host and 2 red phantoms with him helping him.
Why dont they just do this as ally phantom? The biggest strategy i have been using (and the easiest) has been just keep the melee invader(s) between you and the ranged fighters and they get hit in the back non stop. Anyone else seeing this a lot or know why its happening?

sounds like theyre hosting.

did you just run down there and attack the host or?

no if theres already invaders there i just stand to the side and wait my turn. But i have been coming into worlds and they all just sitting there looking at me and run up and attack me XD (Istopped bowing in these stuations, cause they just BS when i do <-<)

I was in FC last night and got picked up by a random host, who had a White phantom he was just stood at teh side so i was like right this is gna be interesting, i figured the host would flask him, he did, so i walked up the host did the well what is it gesture whiel hte other phantom came running up to me and tried a bs, PIVOT PARRY!!!!!, anyway phantom died.....host Dc'd.......

Ive run into this in the forest a few times. Main reason i can come up with is they are low level and his friend cant see his wss. always consider they are weaker and dominate.

I've seen a lot of this too, I guess it's for the surprise factor. Most invaders come in, see another dark phantom, and automatically feel less pressured, and as a result are much easier to team up on. I'm always wary of other invaders who can hurt me- as a darkmoon I hated I'd meet up with a darkwraith and they'd want to fight. Now as a darkwraith, every darkmoon I meet wants to try to kill me. I don't get it.

It's so that they can chase you through mobs. If they are both reds the environment around them becomes a non-issue.

They also weren't invaders.

There are two invasion slots, and two summon spots. Since you invaded, they would have to be red summons. Unless he was a gravelord, in which case there are no summon slots, and three invasion slots.

Just to clarify and correct Tolvo:

As a host in most locations there is one invasion slot and two summons slots.

As a Gravelord there are three invasion slots and no summon slots.

And as a host in the forest there are three invasion slots and two summon slots but you can only have a max of five people in your world at a time, including you as the host. So if you have two summons you can only get two invaders. But if you have one summon you can get up to three invaders.

Back to OP I have actually been seening this a fair amount as well and they are usually duels but because you invaded and they do not know your intentions so they tend to gang up on the new guy. Same thing happened to me last night, invaded in Anor to see two DW and a host standing at the bottom of the stairs. I just waited up top and the DW's rushed me. Killed them both then the host d/ced and hatemailed me for ruining their duel. I told him "Sorry mate. but your dumbass friends rushed me, I was just standing there waiting my turn. But if your gonna be an *** I will hang out and invade you all night long." He never replied and I never saw him again...

In Sens, Blighttown, Anor Londo, and the Burg I have seen two invaders, as well as two summons all at the same time in someone's world.

It is also possible, albeit extremely rare, to have 3 friendly white/gold summons, through either having two additional summons appear simultaneously after the first one, or having an invader mistakenly show up as friendly after you have 2 regular summons. I've seen both happen in Anor Londo.

It figures Befowler the one time that ever happened to me, it was in the forest. And I invaded as a blue, into a world with two whites, one gold, a host. Four man ganking has never sucked so hard...I won...But literally because of the stupidity of my enemy.

That is just the summoning glitch Tolvo.

It happens occasionally that a summon becomes an invader or vica versa. When that happens sometime you get extra slots.

Hah, well winning a 1v4 deserves some sort of special gold forehead star item, or something. Both I've seen I was part of the phantom army. First one I was the first guy summoned, and the host was running around hitting every sign he saw near the Anor Londo stairs, and two other guys appeared simultaneously, to much rejoicing. The second was a regular host +2 run, and just as we cleared the cathedral we got an invasion msg. We got all excited and then the guy comes bounding down the stairs and he's a white phantom. He was a good sport about it and S&O went down in under a minute, it was sort of silly.

I invaded, then they invaded after me. Except in sens, where I was the host and had two summons and an invader already in my world when another invaded.

And Befowler it wasn't that I defeated them, they killed themselves. Literally. I did the jump to the Mushroom Parent area, and all four of the missed the jump and died. It was a very humorous victory.

Again it's a glitch Tolvo. The Forest and Gravelords are the only ways to get multiple invaders legitimately.

I have hosted in Sens lots and I have never had an extra invader. Usually my hosting seesions are 2+ hours and I use dried finger constantly. I also wait for the invader to come to me on the roof so sometimes I am waiting for 10 to 15 minutes. Which is more than long enough for a 2nd invader to appear if there was a second slot. But I have had random white phantoms show up that were trying to invade. And I have also appeared in other worlds as 3rd white phantom when i was actually trying to invade.

How did two enter my world then, if the two people I summoned are already there?

I regularely summon two red phantoms in the hopes of getting a 4 man free for all. After explaining it to those two theyre generally cool with it and wait for someone to invade. Its usually when they do it all goes to **** because they just run in and start attacking, then when all three of us jump him we get hatemail for ganking. Seems to me if you run at three guys who arent being agressive towards you you're asking for it.

They invade you at the same time but due to lag they show up within a min of each other. Again it's a glitch/error I have tested every location mate. It's like Befowler said:
