Has anyone tested the difference in parrying with:

    - Small shields
    - Parry dagger
    - Curved swords
    - Piercing swords

    Is there a difference ?

I did small parry experiments before. I usually parry with med-shields, those have short parry windows. Small shields have a longer parry animation or is it just the target shield, this needs testing. The parry knife has the longest I think.

To parry 2-handed attacks, only the initial animation seems to fully parry it. It's ending animation will only block all damage and eat you stamina.

^That's called a partial parry. Happens when you parried just too early or too late.

    @OP:

I think the only difference in parrying with different weapons is the parry window and cooldown. A larger window (parrying dagger, buckler, target shield) will give you more room for error when parrying, because the parry is longer. A shorter cooldown, on the other hand, will allow you to parry consecutively faster, if you missed.

I'm not sure on all the cooldowns though. I think there's three:

    - Fist-speed (fastest): bare fists, fist weapons, curved swords, rapiers, whips, most small shields, heater shield, etc.
    - Normal-speed: most medium shields, the Effigy shield, maybe some weapons
    - Special (slowest): applies to those weapons I mentioned above that have the larger parry window

Special Parries: 0.75 - 1.5 seconds before attack hits.
Medium Shield Parries: 0.33 - 0.5 seconds before attack hits.
Small Shield parries: 0.2 - 0.3 seconds before attack hits.

Smaller "hitbox" for the parry, but less time you had to "see it coming" both a drawback and advantage, choose your parry wisely.

I usually parry with Medium shields but was interested in some data regarding other parry windows.

Rapiers & Curved swords have a different parry animation than others so i thought there was something special about them.
