Question about weapons Upgrade!

Im Actually at my first Run

SL 57

Thief

vitality 13

Attun 11

Endurance 25

Strenght 16

Dex 40

Res. 10

Int 12

Faith 11



I already have the Bandit Knife +5 and just found the large ember that I gave to andre



So I was Wondering, should I reinforce Mi Bandits Knife to +15 normal, to +5 raw or should I wait to have the fire and chaos ember to go +5 chaos??



Please I would like to know because I still don't get how this kind of things works...



And for armor... I have the thief set almost fully upgraded... any suggestion about armor sets for a thief?

+15 BK, nothing else. You have 40 dex so it'll get great scaling. Also never ever go raw, its a trap, you'll just end up having to descale your weapon and re-upgrade it.

Actually I dont think +5 chaos is a bad idea either. I've never personally used it but I know a lot of people do. SO yeah, +5 chaos or +15 would be your 2 best choices.

Wait a moment! So.. there is an option to deupgrade a weapon???

I mean... i was considering in going +10 normal, cause im in depths, just killed the gaping dragon and about to enter blighttown... and I gues that to get that +5 chaos there is a long way yet to go isn't it?

So I was thinking going +10...



But let's say.... I upgrade my BS to +15, is there an option to de-upgrade it and make it chaos then???



or I have to get another BK to go +5 chaos?

Yeah its the last option along a blacksmiths modify menu. However it doesnt give you any materials back so you dont really want to do it to anything thats greater than +10. Id say get +10 for now.

With your stats, you are far better off taking your BK to 15 then Chaos. Even at 10 humanity, it's only a 50 AR bonus and it has to go through two resistances.

Had you wanted to use an elemental weapon, you would want to use the lowest minimum STR/DEX to use that weapon and the rest going into VIT/END (unless you want spells, in which case you need to take them into account).

Im having a trouble...

I farmed 9 large titanites, Im with andre, I've upgraded the BK to +6 but he doesn't shows me the option to upgrade to +7

what happened?

After you ascend a weapon to +6 you use the normal reinforcement screen to make it+7. SO go down to where it says "Reinforce Weapon" and it will show up.

If this is your first run, i would say only upgrade to +14 and save your slab. Atleast until you are absolutely certain that is the weapon you will want to use for a very long time.
