Now that we can "self-duplicate" consumables and ore, it is possible to get 198 pieces of each of these yourself. It'll just take a long time. Getting 99 slabs may not be possible by yourself.
I've been farming the Kiln to get 100 chunks of every ore. I have another 50-80 runs to collect all the chunks. It takes me 3.5 minutes per run. BORING, but sometimes I get summoned to break the routine. I cannot figure a way to farm 100 slabs of each ore. And this is just using ONE of my six characters!
I'm proposing that we choose someone who is familiar with muling (or whatever this is called) and have them be the depository to collect 100+ of every ore. He can then self-duplicate to get it to 198 pieces of that ore. We may need a couple of depository people to cover the various soul ranges.
Everyone who contributes ore should be the first people to recieve 98 pieces of ore in return. If you give up 99 pieces of ore, you cannot self-duplicate unless you have at least one ore in your "held" inventory. If someone doesn't have two pieces of a select ore (think Slabs), it would take two sessions to give that person enough ore that they could self duplicate themselves.
Is anyone interesting in doing this? Once we get people with 198 pieces of ore, they can spread it throughout the community pretty fast. But the contributors should be reimbursed first. Again, think Slabs. If you have to give up your slabs and forgo upgrading for a long time, it can be discouraging, but if you can imagine having 198 slabs of every ore, you don't have to worry about choosing which weapons or armor to upgrade fully.
I'd be interested in being one of these depositors, but I'm not online enough hours in a day to be the main one. Although my SL68 has most of the ore accumulated already (no slabs though); my SL1 has 7 titanite slabs! I've never used a red soul sign, but I can learn.
