FC: Post your setups? Empty FC: Post your setups?

Post by SATLOS Fri May 11, 2012 12:30 am

Just trying to get a feel for where everyone's setups puts them on the pure PHYS DEF scale...

Guess I'd like to know if I'm handicapping myself at all not having a chest piece on a particular build.

 Not that a chest piece would win a fight or anything

it looks really good to, try on that armor combo. kind of like an evil hobo warrior with a mohawk. reminds me almost like Jason (friday the 13h) if his hocky mask was gold.

^This is my 40/40 all-purpose cosplay build I take in most often. It can be a Darkwraith, Stone Knight, Silver Knight, Kirk, Solaire, and Shiva. Just swap out the appropriate armor/weapons happy

^My Asylum Demon cosplay build, which also doubles as a Smough if you swap out the DWGR for a Havel's Ring, and for the lulz a Capra Demon cosplay by wearing only a Helm of the Explorer and Hollow Warrior Waistcloth for armor (dual Demon's Machetes of course).

    http://tinyurl.com/6mvjwxo

^Faith Caster build. Occasionally remove the Darkmoon Bow and swap out the Giant Blacksmith Hammer with a Crescent Axe.

My builds are secret. silly I'll post them eventually...

My Def on my current one hovers around 330, though. Depending on which weapons I use (I have a lot to choose from) I change my armor around a bit, but I'm around 310-335, generally.

Are you thinking no chest-piece for looks, or because you don't have weight to spare? Because even the light armor chestpieces can provide a fair chunk of defense at very little weight (46 def for 2 weight with the Maiden Robe, and I like it's look).

Yeah, Blaine, I was thinking of getting something mainly for looks, but kind of also wanted to see if there is a sort of mean range were most people sit...

I could Havel ring up and put on something like the brass set, or a mix of pieces like Glute, but I also wanted to highlight that the toon is female...

Once you go medium/light-heavy, you're getting into androgynous territory.

i woudn't worrya bout defense and worry about Poise. Poise and looks are the 2 most important factors to me.

This is the toon/weapons i use the most.
    40/44/40/40 vit/end/str/dex.
    Sack
    Kirks chest
    Havels legs
    Havels gloves

    R1 +15 washing pole/+15 claymore/+15 Gscythe
    R2 + 15 whip/+15 shotel
    L1 +14 claws
    L2 +5 demon spear

    Defence is around 350.

That's the rub... It seems that FROM put all this effort into designing cool armor sets, but then limited us to using two pieces of the Havel set in order to boost our poise past the "magic" mark.

I was trying to get away from ANY Havel's, but even with full brass set--which looks AMAZING without a headpiece on my female toon--my poise is something like 33. I'm guessing Paladin is something around that too.

    Kinda crap, IMHO.

Thanks to everyone for posting their builds/DEF stats...

Especially reim, that looks closest to my build in terms of stats, and provides some hints as to where I can make some changes.

    ^Wolf Ring!

I pretty much always go with Wolf + Fap now. If my opponent has the DWGR on I might switch Wolf's for DWGR and beef up my armor, but generally I just keep my fast roll instead of going for the ninja flip.

if i used wolf ring instead of DWGR i would only be able to use all light armor, and 40 poise flat just ain't worth it. mainly because my off weapon weighs 8lbs.

now if i replaced Ring of Favor with wolf ring i could actually get more poise over 76 but at the cost of a lot of life and less stamina.

I could also drop FaP ring, but then I'd have to wear Havel's + Wolf in order to rock the brass set.

Not that I dislike the concept of poise, but it certainly limits the range of competitive builds.

Of course, I could try being a ninja-flipping savant, but I'm getting older, and the reflexes just ain't what they once were... And I don't enjoy getting constantly stunlocked by the 50 INT mages rocking MLGS.

you can wear the brass Armor then find some light gloves/legs to match it the armor + wolf ring = 56 poise right?? would that fit your weight requirement?

That's why the DWGR is OP...

I made a toon with enough End to have >54 poise with Wolf + Fap and have enough weight left to wield the Murakumo (12) while still fast rolling, that way I wouldn't have to wear that ring.

Yeah, most likely... Gotta get out of the whole DWGR/RoFaP comfort zone.

Might also need to drop some weapon weight... My whole jack-of-all-trades / weapon for every situation idea is a little on the heavy side...

Interesting, but I'm trying to stick to a 40/40/40/40 toon for all the options it allows.
