I've read my fair share. What's your favourite?

don’t really have one. but i like soul eater, one piece, full metal alchemist, death note, beelzebub, toriko, berserk, claymore, naruto, hellsing, shin angyo onshi, and probabaly a lot more that i don’t remember,
but if i had to pick favorite then it would be a tie between shin angyo onshi/full metal alchemist/berserk/soul eater

Very into the popular manga ain't you? I agree FMA is very good, though Beserk I tried to read, but couldn't finish the first chapter, I got distracted and never went back to it
Mine would definitely be Monster, but FMA is one of my favourites, generally I feel most shonen I've read before don't focus on story enough and feel a bit shallow, then again thats not what that demographic is for really

yes i like popular manga
i always have a hard time when starting a new manga, it never seems good.
berserk is one of the scariest manga i have ever read. you should really go back to it.
also give shin angyo onshi a try. the story in it is amazing, and it gives some nice philosophical questions.

I used to buy shounen jump, until they were dumbfucks and put their stuff online. Now I "legally" read all my manga online.

Well, both sound good, though I'll leave them alone for a while till im less busy Definitely give them a look over.
Seriously, try reading Monster, best story driven manga I've ever read, and it's a great suspense style.

Don't like Bleach and Naruto. One piece is good, though. And I read various other mangas as well.

I used to read manga but then I went to a few anime clubs and conventions...the anime/manga community(not everyone) needs to shower more often and learn basic social skills. They ruined manga and anime for me

^ I have to agree, my friends took me to this anime convention nearby twice. Both times were pretty horrible experiences, the community is just a little too over the top for me, I guess I just don't feel like I fit in there It's like being a chicken in a wolf den.
I used to really enjoy anime as well, like everything I did had to be anime based, my video games had to be JRPG's, the cartoons I watched as a teen, all japanese influenced. The Slayers and Record of Lodoss War, those were some of my favourite animes, though I guess we are talking more about manga. I just couldn't keep up with it all, now its just the community that tends to keep me away.

20th Century Boys is much much better imo.
Also I like Vinland Saga right now, and D.Gray-man for a more fun/light read

Well, I thought it was amazing, but the latter half let the whole thing down, and the plot lost it's way towards the end.
After the time skip, nothing made any sense, and while I still feel it was a great manga series, it lacks the consistency and completeness that monster has.
If it was just the main bit before it skipped and everyone was considered 'dead' then it would be better than monster yeah. Not that I'm really bothered about the differences too much when I like Naoki Urasawa so much anyways
Also yeah, I've never been to an anime convention, then again I doubt Britain has any to be honest and the people there I suspect.. I'd be a little out of place there

I've had a read of shin angyo onshi. I see where you come from with the philosophical aspect of it. There is a heavy focus on the nature of good and morality certainly, though I have read only 3 chapters so a story has not panned out as of yet, it is still in the single story-disjointed phase many manga go through.
I only just realised, I thought the art was strange, I see it's actually a Manhwa, rather good I think

@Extertionist. i do read toriko. i think it is a pretty good shounen for being made around food
@Bloodpixel. i like one piece but many times it just seems a bit childish though, but thats my only complain about it.
@mugenis4real. i haven’t been to any manga "clubs" but i am a member on a forum and i agree, most of them need some social skills but there are also many that are really friendly and very funny. but the debates that start are just too much for me i have never understood why they want to make people believe that one character is cooler/stronger/more important than the others, sure they might be right everyone else doesn’t have to believe it.
@serious. the story gets better. but you wont know what they are talking about until the 1/3 of the story long flashback (exaggerating a little bit here, but it is really long). that was something that bothered me at least.

Okay helloo, i look forward to the big reveal, though I like some of the cheeky twists that get thrown in. It's not like they're even a major part of the story (except 1st chapter) but they just put them in to taunt you on first impressions of characters, i love it
Also, the whole point that one piece is amazing is that it's childish. It's just massively happy and always non-serious.. pretty much the reason it's been so popular for so long I think.

i wouldn’t really call it a big reveal . but you will know how everything happened.
i know that it is the point of OP, but it just reminds me of my siblings running around believing that they have superpowers. it just irritating most of the time.
except for enel. he was a boss, until the plot demanded him to lose :x .

Yeah, the whole point of enel was he is as powerful as a shichibukai or maybe even and emperor (suppposedly a 200mil rookie who disappeared I think?), but his achilles heel turned up. The guy just had bad luck, I like to think of it as Karma for being a massive douche

actually he could blitz luffy without effort and if he had made a weapon from the gold early on he could have defeated luffy without problem.
^this is what i mean with the debating.

yeah well, you were the one pointing out the technicalities, which noone else really cared about You do realise that wasn't the point of the battle right
It's the same as with crocodile, he got lucky with using his weakness.. The whole way he beat them was to show he wasn't that powerful, to make a progression curve

The reason for luffy always winning? You mean there's a reason beyond the fact he's the main character?
