    Fully Testing the Chaos Servants

Post by Chaos Spectre on Tue May 08, 2012 3:53 am

Hello everyone, as you can tell by my name, I love the chaos servants, a lot. I've got new tests to do, and I need to know if anyone else has any theories.

First of all, The Covenant itself only seems to give you access to Lost Izalith Via a Shortcut, 2 chaos pyromancies, and thats it. I believe, however, that there is more, just like I believe with every covenant.

    Here are my primary tests.

Old Witch's Ring: Testing for damage changes with rank via the different pyromancies. There is rumor that it can change damage and maybe even make it stronger.
Conclusion: No effect. None of the fire damage from anything increased, toxic and poison did no extra damage, no time or stat increase to buff spells, and egghead did nothing extra damage-wise.

Chaos Pyromancies: Though tested before, I like to just check again. Planning to test with different humanity levels, and with different covenant ranks
Conclusion: Covenant ranking has no effect on damage or lava size, however, I noticed an increase in the chance of having a large lava glob over a small lava glob the more humanity I had. It was never a permanant change, but it happened more often the more humanity I had.

The Egg Head: The elusive egg head is well connected to this covenant. As such, my plans are to test it for damage changes, infection chances, and possibly a third stage.

The Secret of Izalith: Someone once said that there was a wall you could only break with a maxed out weapon. While I've done what most have and smacked almost every wall visible in game, I haven't thought of the fact that maybe it require a covenant, and I know a couple spots in Izalith that could use a good whacking once I'm maxed out in the only covenant to open a Shortcut. I will also test this in other places in game.

Saving the Fair Lady: It seems as though the fair lady gains strength the more Humanity you give her, so I plan to see just how much it takes. Dear lord the leaderboard better be ready for me.

If you guys have any other ideas for testing, let me know, I'm open to suggestion.

Pretty sure we tried that... it just let's you talk to Qualagg.
Chaos Pyromancies: Though tested before, I like to just check again. Planning to test with different humanity levels, and with different covenant rank.As you said, this has been tested before. I wouldn't expect any discoveries.
The Egg Head: The elusive egg head is well connected to this covenant. As such, my plans are to test it for damage changes, infection chances, and possibly a third stage.
I'm interested to see what you find out, as this feels likely.

Humanity caps out eventually, and nothing changes.

I'm interested in seeing a test of DPS with Pyro punch, and I'm curious on if the covenant effects pyromancy cast speed at all.

Hmm, I don't really have the power to test those exactly, I might be able to test the pyro punch. As for cast speed, I don't really have a way of testing that without some sort of recording device.

So far, +0 does absolutely nothing to anything with pyromancy even with the ring. More tests tomorrow.

Just tested all spells at +1, and I got nothing. I'll work my way to +2 and see if anything changes. I can confirm, however, that lava and chaos spell damage does NOT increase with humanity. I had nine when I first used the spells, and gave them all to the fair lady, and am still doing the same damage. However, lava size was not tested, I'll do that in the future.

umm... when i've used the ranking item for the chaos servants i've seen people with over 2000 humanity donated and that was within the first 2 months that the game had been out, im not sure the chaos servants ever cap out....

I'm glad someone's doing this. I always found it to be a little disappointing that there were no online features for the CS's.

So far, my tests have found something awesome. Not complete so don't take my word for it because I have no real proof, but I've infected people, and I have a feeling it scales with covenant rank. Oh this will be amazing online.

Also, I plan to test every covenant until i have answers. CS were first because of my affiliation with them lol.

She becomes more lively. I'm not sure where the PS3 boards have gotten with the most humanity put into the covenant, but we have 5k on the Xbox. I wouldn't doubt that it would be a high number, being From had so much fun with it in 3D Dot Game Heroes. But she starts moving around more, as if shes healing from the humanity.

The only thing I've noticed is that she is thankful when you reach rank 2, and then again each time you first give a humanity after re-joining the cov (assuming your were rank 3 when you left, at least). Maybe I'll try to pay closer attention.

    *EDIT*

Wait, no, what was I thinking? It isn't just when you re-join, she perks up the first time you donate a humanity each playthrough. Man, time for go to bed.

With the egghead. These were people I got invaded by online. I need to test it though, see if it works and when it works. It could be possible that it only works when invaded instead of invading. Not sure yet, but its a fun idea and makes the covenant more fun for pvp.

Okay, I'm making a sick pyro/egghead build. He's a darkwraith with the sole goal of infecting ppl. I dint care if I lose... Gotta infect'em all!!!

Idea... I'll start a covenant! Anyone down to join?

Yeah, it's kind of what I'm going for... But it's focused on conformity. E veryone dressing the same and having an egghead. My covenant will allow to use your own style, but maintain the goal of spreading the infction and recruitibg members after each successfyl infection. I'll post a link here once I get home and write it up all nice in a new post.

As mentioned later in the followers of izalith covenant, the clothing is simply a suggestion for rping. Servant said that the only real requirement is being in chaos servent covenent +2

Well that covenant already existed. It's called chaos servant... The whole point of mine is being able to.invade, and spread the infection.
