Demon catalyst

you know that little catalyst you get from killing demon firesage?

its not a bad one believe it or not

its the best meele catalyst in the game (at least on me it was doing 400 damage a normal hit) that can cast spells of course not as powerfull as those other catalyst (i.e beatrice's,tin crystalization,etc)

i like it and i use it
i just don't like the fact that its underrated as hell
no one uses the damn thing and thats just shameful the catalyst is badass it has around 150 magadjust thats good right?

I would say is good for a backup weapon and low INT mages, you can use it to cast Hoaming soulmass which a believe is less affected by INT scaling than other direct damage spells and to buffs. Is also good to surprise enemies if they get too close and you strike them for a higher damage that they would expect

Scudman_Slayer, does the fire damage from the catalyst scale with int when it's used as a melee weapon? If so, I could see where it would be a pretty good melee weapon, although lack of backstabbing isn't ideal.

but is supossed to be a secondary weapon, you can't do a entire playthrough with this catalyst for example, some bosses are immune to fire. Through the game you will need to use diferent weapons all time.

What was your int when you were doing 400 dmg?

i had 34 INT at the time

I believe it does affect, because I have a char with 20 or 25 INT, can't remember right now, and used to do 300 damage or so
